Symptoms and recognition of ectopic pregnancy

Symptoms and recognition of ectopic pregnancy

Many people are not clear about the specific symptoms even if they suffer from ectopic pregnancy, and have no idea whether they have this disease. This is because the symptoms of ectopic pregnancy itself are not so obvious, so it makes it difficult for most patients to identify whether they have this disease. The most common symptom of this disease is amenorrhea. If it occurs, you need to go to the hospital for relevant gynecological examinations in time.

Symptoms and Signs

Most patients have a history of amenorrhea, and sometimes a small amount of irregular vaginal bleeding may occur after amenorrhea. The rupture or miscarriage of ectopic pregnancy often occurs around 40 days of pregnancy, with severe pain in the lower abdomen. Rupture of ectopic pregnancy can cause acute massive bleeding, resulting in a drop in the patient's blood pressure, and syncope or shock. 10% of patients experience shoulder pain, which is caused by reflex stimulation of the prostatic nerve by hemoperitoneum.

Most patients experience amenorrhea for 6 to 8 weeks, but some patients have no obvious history of amenorrhea, and some mistake vaginal bleeding for normal menstruation.

Abdominal pain is caused by rupture of the fallopian tube, often with tearing pain on one side of the lower abdomen, accompanied by nausea, vomiting, and a feeling of heaviness in the anus. If there is excessive bleeding, the pain will be unbearable.

Diarrhea Patients with ectopic pregnancy may also experience diarrhea symptoms. If the condition is not carefully analyzed, it can easily be mistaken for indigestion or intestinal emergency.

Vaginal bleeding is often irregular, dark brown in color, small in amount, usually not exceeding the amount of menstruation, and is always unclean.

If there is heavy bleeding, the situation will be more serious and may cause fainting and shock. Most patients have a short history of amenorrhea before the onset of the disease, usually about 6 weeks.

Shock can cause dizziness, pale complexion, thin pulse, low blood pressure, and cold sweats, leading to phenomena such as fainting and shock. Fainting caused by an ectopic pregnancy can also easily be mistaken for hypoglycemia.

Warning signs

Ectopic pregnancy actually has warning signs. When the following three alarms sound, be sure to pay attention.

1. History of short-term amenorrhea or delayed menstruation, irregular vaginal bleeding. Most patients with ectopic pregnancy have a history of amenorrhea, which varies in length, generally 6 to 8 weeks. 30% of patients have no obvious history of amenorrhea, but have irregular vaginal bleeding, small amount of bleeding, spot-like, dark red color. A few patients have bleeding similar to menstrual volume, and some patients have no vaginal bleeding.

Some patients with irregular vaginal bleeding will be diagnosed with "threatened abortion" and take measures to preserve the pregnancy. At the same time, because there are no typical symptoms in the early stages of ectopic pregnancy, the disease is delayed and treatment becomes more difficult.

2. Abdominal pain. This is another most common symptom of ectopic pregnancy. Patients may experience dull pain, distending pain, heaviness, colic or tearing pain. This type of abdominal pain may occur continuously or intermittently, or it may come on suddenly.
