What is the reason for the reduction of menstrual period days?

The normal menstrual cycle of a person should be about five to seven days, and menstruation will start more than 23 days every month and end less than 30 days. This situation is very normal and regular. However, when women find that their menstrual period is not within the prescribed number of days and is significantly reduced, this situation may be caused by progesterone, gynecological diseases, and problems with the accessory organs, which require timely examination.

A normal menstrual cycle is generally about 5 to 7 days, but for many women, each menstrual cycle lasts less than three days.

Many diseases in women can cause this phenomenon. Here are some common reasons for short menstrual cycles:

1. Luteal insufficiency: Due to the shortening of the relatively fixed luteal phase, the menstrual cycle becomes shorter. This disease often occurs during childbearing age.

2. Poor ovarian storage function: mostly occurs in women of childbearing age after 35 years old.

3. Dysfunctional uterine bleeding in adolescence: The reason why adolescent women have short menstrual cycles is often due to the incomplete development of the hypothalamus, pituitary gland, and ovarian functions.

4. Bleeding during ovulation: Some women who experience more bleeding during ovulation may also have frequent menstrual cycles, which is also one of the reasons for short menstrual cycles.

5. Uterine leiomyoma: Severe uterine leiomyoma may cause heavy menstrual flow, frequent menstrual cycles or shortened menstrual cycles.

6. Ovarian dysfunction: Menopausal dysfunctional uterine bleeding can cause short menstrual cycles, so ovarian dysfunction is also a cause of short menstrual cycles.

Menstruation is regular, cyclical uterine bleeding. It is also called menstruation, menstrual period, menstrual period, and menstrual leave. Strictly speaking, this bleeding should be accompanied by ovarian follicle maturation, ovulation and corpus luteum formation, and the endometrium should undergo changes from proliferation to secretion. However, in clinical practice, uterine bleeding without ovulation is common, which is called anovulatory menstruation.

The first menstrual period is called menarche, which usually occurs between the ages of 13 and 15, but may occur as early as 11 to 12 years old or as late as 17 to 18 years old. The age of menarche in different regions of my country is not much different, but those who are weak or malnourished may have a later menarche, while those who are strong and well-nourished may have an earlier menarche. Menstruation stops spontaneously at around the age of 49, lasting about 35 years.

Menstruation should have normal cycles, periods, volume, color and quality.

The first day of bleeding (i.e. menstruation) is called the beginning of the menstrual cycle. The interval between the first days of two menstrual periods is called a menstrual cycle, which is generally 28 to 30 days, which is about the same as a lunar month. The length of the cycle varies from person to person. Occasionally, a period that is advanced or delayed by no more than 7 days can still be considered normal. That is, the menstrual cycle should not be less than 21 days and not more than 35 days. Menstruation stops during pregnancy and lactation.

Your period is the duration of your menstrual bleeding. Normal menstruation lasts 2 to 7 days, usually 4 to 5 days. Menstrual flow refers to the amount of blood discharged during menstruation. The amount of menstrual flow is difficult to calculate, but clinically, a rough estimate of the amount is often made by changing menstrual pads daily. Some people have measured that the normal menstrual blood volume is about 10 to 58 ml, and some women's menstrual volume can exceed 100 ml. Some people believe that monthly blood loss of more than 80 ml is a pathological condition. Generally, the heaviest bleeding occurs on the 2nd to 3rd day of menstruation. Due to differences in individual physique, age, climate, region and living conditions, menstrual volume may sometimes increase or decrease slightly, which is all within the normal physiological range.
