Therefore, women should protect their uterus in daily life. Some women will be very worried if their abdomen becomes hard and bulge when lying down, worried that uterine fibroids have occurred. Let's learn about it below.

When I lie down flat, my abdomen becomes hard and bulges. Is it a uterine fibroid?

Uterine fibroids can easily cause abdominal pain, heavy menstrual flow and prolonged menstruation. Digestive problems can cause changes in bowel movement characteristics and habits. Check with B-ultrasound to see if there are uterine fibroids. If there are symptoms in the digestive system, it is recommended to check with barium meal or CT. If there are no symptoms, you can just observe.

What are the symptoms of digestive tract diseases?

1. Lack of appetite during gastrointestinal disease

It may be caused by abnormal digestion or movement of the stomach and intestines. However, there are many reasons for poor appetite. In addition to gastrointestinal diseases, it can also be caused by mental factors, drug reactions or other organ diseases.

2. Nausea and vomiting during gastrointestinal disease

This symptom often occurs when there is high intestinal obstruction or abnormal intestinal motility.

3. Abdominal pain during gastrointestinal disease

Acute abdominal pain can occur due to intestinal inflammation, intestinal obstruction, intestinal perforation, and intestinal loop ischemia. Gastrointestinal tumors or inflammatory diseases often cause persistent abdominal pain.

4. Diarrhea during gastrointestinal disease

Acute diarrhea is often related to intestinal bacterial infection, bacterial toxins or other harmful substances damaging the gastrointestinal mucosa. Intestinal dysfunction is often related to digestive problems, excessive gastrointestinal motility and other symptoms caused by various reasons. Intestinal dysfunction caused by colon disease is often accompanied by poor digestion and absorption, and diarrhea caused by sigmoid colon disease is often caused by inflammation or excessive sigmoid colon movement.

5. Constipation during gastrointestinal disease

The gastrointestinal motility becomes weaker, the supporting force of the intestinal muscle layer decreases, and the sigmoid colon and duodenum become narrow due to inflammation or tumors, which can cause constipation. Constipation can also be caused by medications, changes in lifestyle, a lean or refined diet, or too little fiber in food. Therefore, constipation is not necessarily caused by organic diseases of the stomach and intestines.

6. Abnormal bowel movements during gastrointestinal disease

Abnormal bowel movements refer to a feeling of discomfort and physical discomfort during bowel movements, with recent significant changes in bowel movement frequency, stool color, and stool appearance. If there is gushing blood during bowel movements, or blood dripping out after bowel movements, the blood does not mix with the excrement, the bleeding is uneven, and there is a foreign body at the anus, it may be hemorrhoids; if the disease develops rapidly, accompanied by abdominal pain, diarrhea, nausea, vomiting, the amount of blood in the stool is very small and often mixed with the excrement, the bowel movements are frequent, there is a feeling of anal prolapse and abdominal tenderness, it may be bacterial dysentery.

7. Farting when gastrointestinal disease occurs

In fact, fart is not a single gas, but a mixture of various gases, including hydrogen, carbon dioxide, hydrogen chloride, indole, volatile compound skatole, etc. A high-protein diet produces a lot of hydrogen chloride (the smell of rotten eggs) when it rots, so it has a special smell. Generally speaking, the more delicious the food you eat (meat, fried food), the smellier your farts will be. If you eat coarse rice or light rice, the odor will be less. If you fart a lot and they often have a foul odor, it means that you have eaten too much protein and your gastrointestinal pressure is too heavy. You should reduce the intake or immediately switch to a vegetarian diet to avoid gastrointestinal diseases.
