How to reduce cesarean section scars

Although many women now choose cesarean section and they all know that there will be a scar, all women hope that the doctor will make the wound as small as possible so that it will heal more easily and will not leave such a long scar on the belly. Of course, it is not as beautiful as imagined. The operation is to ensure the health of the mother and the baby, but there are ways to deal with the scars. Let’s talk about how to reduce the scars caused by cesarean section.

Cosmetic incisions and sutures can greatly reduce the appearance of scars, but for some people with special physical conditions, scars are still inevitable. So what should we do if the scars are too ugly?

1. Promote wound healing: New mothers who have undergone cesarean section must have a reasonable diet and balanced nutrition after delivery to facilitate wound healing. The diet of postpartum women is generally very nutritionally sufficient, and they will not lack the necessary amino acids, vitamins, and minerals such as zinc, iron, and calcium. However, they should avoid eating spicy, irritating, and light-sensitive foods such as peppers, onions, garlic, beef, mutton, seafood, celery, coriander, and mangoes to prevent skin irritation and scar hyperplasia.

2. Moderate massage: After the wound heals, massage can be used to soften and reduce the scar. During massage, you can apply essential oils or vitamins to assist. Lavender essential oil, vitamins C and E are more commonly used. They can fade scars, gradually restore skin elasticity, and improve the characteristics of scars.

3. Surgical treatment: Surgical treatment is for patients with large postoperative scars, such as crab feet or centipede shapes, and with scar pain and pulling sensation. Surgical treatment is the most thorough treatment for scars. As long as the operation is standardized and meticulous, and postoperative care is proper, the new scar from the operation can be completely transformed into a thin line. However, scars that can undergo surgery are subject to certain conditions. In addition, surgery causes greater trauma and naturally higher risks. New scars from surgery may be longer, deformed, or even worsen.
