How to calculate the interval between fetal movements?

What expectant mothers are most concerned about during pregnancy is the baby in their belly. What is the time and frequency of each fetal movement? Only by judging the state of fetal movement can we know how to calculate the interval between fetal movements and ensure the baby's health. Therefore, many mothers will count fetal movements regularly and observe the baby's every move in the womb. Therefore, the calculation method of fetal movement and the correct way of fetal movement have become issues that many parents are concerned about.

How should pregnant women calculate fetal movements?

Fetal movement refers to the movement of the fetus in the uterine cavity that impacts the uterine wall. After 4 months of pregnancy, that is, from the 5th month, the mother can clearly feel the movement of the fetus. The fetus stretches its hands, kicks its legs, and hits the uterine wall in the uterus. This is fetal movement. The number, speed, strength, etc. of fetal movements indicate the safety of the fetus. Fetal movement is the movement of the fetus in the mother's womb.

Fetal movement counting method

After the 28th week of pregnancy, expectant mothers should start counting fetal movements every day. Pregnant mothers can choose to calculate the number of fetal movements about 1-2 hours after breakfast or dinner. Continuous fetal movement is counted as one time, and another fetal movement after a pause is counted as two times. Because fetal movement will be more obvious after meals. Therefore, it is more suitable for fetal movement calculation. Normally, it should be easy to count 10 fetal movements within two hours. If the fetal movement count is less than ten times within two hours, you should suspect a problem and continue counting the fetal movements. If after 6 hours of continuous observation, the number of fetal movements is still less than ten times within two hours, you must go to the hospital for examination. According to statistics, counting fetal movements can detect 89%-90% of abnormalities, which is quite useful.

Fetal movement patterns

There are many ways for the fetus to move: sticking out the butt, turning over, somersaults, moving the arms, kicking the legs, shaking the head, burping, sucking the fingers, etc. Generally, the fetus moves 3-5 times per hour, and 30-40 times within 12 hours. Starting from the 6th month of pregnancy, the fetus will kick and bump violently.

Under normal circumstances, there are certain changes in the strength and frequency of fetal movements during the day and night. During the day, the number of fetal movements is less in the morning and gradually increases after 6 pm. 8-11 pm is the time when fetal movements are active. The frequency and strength of fetal movements vary greatly from person to person. Some pregnant women have orgasms more than 100 times in 12 hours, while others have orgasms only 30-40 times. This has a lot to do with the mother's personality, mood, hobbies and the sound and light of the outside world.

Result judgment

(1) If the number of fetal movements is less than 3 times within 1 hour, you should pay attention. You can gently stimulate it and then continue counting for 1 hour. If it is still less than 3 times, you should consult a doctor or go to the doctor directly.

(2) If the calculated number of fetal movements equivalent to 12 hours is less than 30 times, attention should be paid and further observation should be carried out. If it is less than 20 times, you should consult a doctor.

(3) If the number of fetal movements today is reduced by more than 30% compared to the past, it should be considered abnormal and you should contact your doctor promptly.

(4) If you count the fetal movements for less than 10 times for 2 hours continuously, you should consult a doctor.
