What causes cervical erosion? These are the reasons!

Cervical erosion is a common gynecological disease, which is a manifestation of inflammation of the female cervix. Once suffering from cervical erosion, women's leucorrhea will increase, the color of the leucorrhea will turn yellow, and the leucorrhea will have a distinct odor. There will be no obvious pain at the beginning. Once the disease develops seriously, there will not only be pain, but also greater harm. So what are the causes of cervical erosion?

First, what causes cervical erosion?

In the cervix, there are two different types of cells. The ones close to the vagina are squamous epithelial cells, while the ones close to the uterus are columnar epithelial cells. The two types of epithelial cells are different in appearance. The central part looks a bit like an "eroded" cervix, which is the appearance after being covered by columnar epithelium, while the relatively smooth cervix on the outside is the part of the cervix covered by squamous epithelial cells.

Columnar epithelial cells and squamous epithelial cells are in a dynamic equilibrium state, and the area where the two types of cells meet is medically named the "squamocolumnar junction". The squamocolumnar junction is easily affected by estrogen. Before puberty, women's ovarian function is not perfect, estrogen is low, and the columnar epithelium is closer to the inside. After menstruation, the columnar epithelium is affected by estrogen and moves more to the outside, so there are more symptoms similar to "erosion".

After menopause, women's estrogen levels decrease and the columnar epithelium begins to retreat inward. During examination, it will be found that the "erosion" has disappeared. So, in essence, cervical erosion is actually eversion of the columnar epithelium.

Second, what causes severe cervical erosion?

First of all, unhealthy sex life is the primary cause of severe cervical erosion

Most gynecological diseases are prone to occur in married women who have sexual lives. However, some unmarried women have the protection of the hymen as a barrier, so the microecological environment in their vagina is balanced and the bacterial flora survives in a normal environment. Even if pathogens invade, cervical erosion rarely occurs. However, once having sex, the female vagina is in an open stage, and the penis and cervix are in direct contact during sex. If you do not pay attention to sexual hygiene, it is very likely that the bacteria will be brought directly into the vagina, thereby infecting the cervix and causing chronic cervicitis. The most common manifestation of chronic cervicitis is cervical erosion.

Secondly, multiple sexual partners, high-intensity sexual intercourse, and sexual intercourse during menstruation are also causes of severe cervical erosion that cannot be ignored.

Again, over-cleaning is also the culprit. In order to keep their private parts clean, many women often use highly concentrated cleansing lotions, but they do not realize that this not only cannot guarantee health, but also disrupts the acid-base balance of the private parts, leading to bacterial invasion.

Experts point out that cervical erosion, especially severe cervical erosion, has a great impact on women's health. Therefore, women must pay attention to this disease and actively cooperate with treatment. At the same time, cervical erosion can be prevented in life. Women should have a healthy sex life; do not use too concentrated cleansing liquid to clean the private parts. If you are a healthy woman, just use clean water; even if you are a sick woman, you should take medication under the guidance of a doctor.

Third, what are the causes of cervical erosion?

1. Cervical infection is not treated in time, resulting in chronic inflammation.

2. Differences in individual hormone levels are the root cause of cervical erosion. Especially for women who are pregnant or taking oral contraceptives, cervical erosion is likely to occur.

3. Unclean sexual life: During sexual intercourse, the penis and cervix are in direct contact. If men do not pay attention to sexual hygiene, they can directly bring bacteria into the vagina, infect the cervix, and cause chronic cervicitis.

4. Multiple artificial abortions: Repeated artificial abortions can cause varying degrees of cervical damage, giving bacteria an opportunity to take advantage. Due to the stimulation of inflammation, local secretions increase, and the cervix is immersed in inflammatory secretions for a long time, which will cause erosion.

5. Excessive cleaning: Some women often use high-concentration disinfectant to flush the vagina, which will affect the ecological balance in the vagina, hinder the growth of normal flora, reduce its ability to inhibit bacteria, and eventually cause erosion.

6. Intrauterine contraceptive device: The tail thread of the intrauterine contraceptive device irritates the cervix, which is one of the reasons why many women who have had an intrauterine contraceptive device are prone to cervical erosion. If there is a small wound on the cervix, the friction with the tail thread during sexual intercourse will increase the size of the wound and is also a cause of erosion.
