How should I regulate my confinement period?

Confinement is very important for women. After giving birth, you should strengthen your diet and eat some foods that replenish qi and blood. Don't eat raw, cold or stimulating foods. Pay attention to keeping your body warm and keep the air fresh. Pay attention to air circulation indoors. In addition, keep your body clean. An optimistic and cheerful attitude is also very important, which is good for conditioning your body.

In the first two or three days after the baby is born, he or she generally cannot suck out milk and has to be fed with formula. At this time, new mothers should massage their breasts to help produce milk as quickly as possible and prevent milk from swelling and causing mastitis. The specific method is: hold the breast with one hand, and use the other hand to massage along the bottom of the breast towards the nipple, ten times in clockwise and counterclockwise directions. The more the better. Massage is the best way to open up the milk ducts. Also, please note that you should eat light and easily digestible food in the first three days after delivery, and remember not to eat too much fish and meat.

Because the mother is weak in both qi and blood after giving birth, she should eat some qi and blood replenishing foods in the first week after delivery, such as red dates, lotus seeds, animal liver, black chicken, brown sugar, wolfberry, donkey-hide gelatin, yam, salvia miltiorrhiza, etc.

In the second week after delivery, you should eat some appetizing foods to prepare for the baby's growing appetite. Apples, oranges, and hawthorns are all good choices.

In the third week after delivery, you should eat foods that help increase milk production quickly. Pig's trotter stewed with soybean soup, carp soup, crucian carp and tofu soup, and black chicken soup are all very good.

You should also keep your mood happy during the confinement period. Only when you are in a good mood can you have a good confinement period.

You should pay attention to keeping warm during the confinement period, but it does not mean the more you wear, the better. You should wear enough clothes and pay attention to ventilation. The confinement period usually lasts for a whole month, and new mothers should still pay attention to recuperation after the confinement period.
