Female sterilization is the preferred contraceptive method for contemporary women, because it not only prevents women from gynecological inflammation caused by wearing birth control rings, but is also safer than using condoms. Therefore, more and more female friends in today's society choose sterilization for contraception after giving birth. However, recently, many female friends found that they became pregnant unexpectedly after having a sterilization operation. So can women still get pregnant after having a sterilization? Can I still get pregnant after having a vasectomy? The answer is maybe. The fallopian tubes are two muscular tubes in the female reproductive system. Their main function is to pick up and transport eggs and serve as channels for the combination of sperm and eggs. There are two methods of ligation, and the difference in methods has a great impact on the effect after recanalization. The first is double ligation, with the Proschitz method being the most common. It causes greater damage to the fallopian tube because a longer section of the fallopian tube needs to be removed. This can cause difficulty in anastomosis when the diameters of the fallopian tubes are inconsistent, and the results of pregnancy recurrence are affected to a certain extent. Another method is the silver clip method, which involves lifting the fallopian tube and clamping the silver clip on the fallopian tube. This method causes the least damage to the fallopian tube and has the best effect on re-pregnancy. The second method is to open the mesotubation and partially resect the fallopian tube. In this method, the avascular area of the isthmus is selected to resect about 1 cm of the fallopian tube during ligation. When the fallopian tube is recanalized, the two ends of the fallopian tube have equal diameters, thicker muscle layers, and fewer mucosal folds, so the operation is easy and the effect is good. Infertility experts point out that a very small number of women can still get pregnant after undergoing sterilization surgery. The main reasons for this are: the fallopian tubes have a strong regenerative ability, and sometimes the severed ends heal again and become open again. This is the main reason for re-opening after sterilization. If the fallopian tube is tied too tightly, the ligature will cut the wall of the fallopian tube, allowing the fallopian tube to reconnect with the uterus and abdominal cavity, so that the egg released by the ovary can enter the fallopian tube and combine with the sperm to cause pregnancy. There is also a situation where a small number of women are already pregnant before having a sterilization operation, but the pregnancy is not discovered during the operation. This situation is often caused by not strictly controlling the timing of surgery and having sexual intercourse before surgery. If pregnancy cannot be ruled out at the time of surgery, aspiration uterus should be performed before surgery. Some surgeons lack experience and mistakenly tie other tissues while leaving the actual fallopian tube untied; or one fallopian tube is tied twice while the other is not tied; or the ligature is too loose and the fallopian tube remains open; or the suture falls off and leaves the fallopian tube open again. All these increase the possibility of a woman getting pregnant after having a ligation. |
