Will corpus luteum deficiency cause infertility?

Will corpus luteum deficiency cause infertility?

Insufficient corpus luteum in women can lead to infertility, because insufficient corpus luteum can cause poor secretion of the female endometrium, cause menstrual disorders, and easily lead to miscarriage even if pregnancy occurs. The main reason for insufficient corpus luteum is insufficient secretion of follicle-stimulating hormone and corpus luteum function in the pituitary gland. At this time, it should be supplemented in time. In addition, we should also emphasize nutrition in daily life and pay attention to diet and health.

Corpus luteum insufficiency refers to the failure of the corpus luteum to fully form after ovulation, resulting in insufficient secretion of progesterone, which makes the endometrium unable to be transformed in time, and is not conducive to the implantation of the fertilized egg. This often leads to infertility or habitual miscarriage.

Luteal insufficiency is a common clinical phenomenon. In infertility, some diseases such as infertility and habitual abortion are often related to luteal insufficiency. Luteal insufficiency is also commonly called luteal insufficiency, luteal dysfunction, etc. Since the level of basal body temperature is regulated by the body temperature center, and luteinizing hormone has a direct stimulating effect on the body temperature center, the strength of the corpus luteum function is proportional to the intensity of stimulation of the body temperature center. Therefore, the level of body temperature can directly reflect the condition of the corpus luteum function.

Patients with luteal insufficiency may experience symptoms such as shortened menstrual cycles, early miscarriage, and infertility due to insufficient progesterone secretion by the corpus luteum or premature luteal recession, resulting in poor endometrial secretion.

The common cause of luteal insufficiency is insufficient secretion of follicle-stimulating hormone and luteinizing hormone by the pituitary gland, or the uncoordinated secretion of these two hormones. When the secretion of follicle-stimulating hormone and luteinizing hormone is insufficient, it can hinder the development and maturation of follicles. At this time, although the ovaries can ovulate, the development of the corpus luteum may be affected, resulting in luteal insufficiency.

In addition, sometimes luteal insufficiency may occur because the endometrium is not sensitive to progesterone. In addition, when doctors are treating infertility, they find that some hormones used to treat infertility can also cause luteal insufficiency. For example, when using clomiphene to induce ovulation, although the drug can promote ovulation, some patients will experience luteal insufficiency after taking the drug.
