IVF

In vitro fertilization has long become the last straw for many infertile couples. But even so, not all infertile people can do it. If they are very old or the provider of sperm or egg cells suffers from reproductive or genital tract infection, or is addicted to alcohol or taking drugs, they cannot do it. The cost of in vitro fertilization generally costs 10,000 to 15,000 yuan for one cycle. Let's take a look at the experience of in vitro fertilization below.

1. Ovulation induction: A woman’s egg is like a rare treasure, with only one egg being released from the uterus and ovary in a month. Because not every egg cell can fuse with sperm, and not every sperm-egg combination can produce a test tube embryo, in order to increase the pregnancy rate, it is necessary to carry out ovulation induction treatment on women in advance, promote the synchronous development of multiple eggs, and extract multiple high-quality eggs at one time.

2. IVF egg and sperm retrieval: A long and thin special egg retrieval needle is fixed on the B-ultrasound camera. Under the B-ultrasound examination, the doctor uses the egg retrieval needle to enter the uterus and ovaries from the vagina, puncture the perfect egg, and collect the egg fluid. The egg fluid is injected into each test tube baby along the thin tube of the egg retrieval needle, and the IVF egg retrieval is completed.

While retrieving eggs for IVF, sperm is also collected from men. It is also done under intravenous anesthesia. The patient will not feel any pain and it usually takes ten minutes to complete.

3. In vitro fertilization: After the sperm and egg are taken out, the sperm must be specially cleaned first. Because the semen may carry viruses such as syphilis, hepatitis B, HIV, etc., the sperm and semen must be separated. Later, the sperm and eggs are placed in an artificial culture medium, and they can be selected for natural fusion, or the sperm can be artificially introduced into the eggs.

4. Test tube transfer: After the sperm and egg combine in the culture medium to produce a test tube embryo, a few days later, the doctor will use a test tube transfer hose to transplant the test tube embryo into the pregnant mother's uterus through the cervix. Generally speaking, only two test tube embryos are transplanted at a time. The more test tube embryos there are, the higher the risk of multiple pregnancy, and the more likely it is to pose a threat to the health of the mother and baby.
