What changes occur in the body after menopause?

Women need to pay attention to the changes in their bodies after menopause, because usually after entering menopause, women will enter menopause, which will manifest as symptoms such as loss of pubic hair, reduction of subcutaneous fat in the labia, and loss of vaginal elasticity.

1. Everyone should pay attention to their bodies at this stage, especially menopausal women. Because for people in this menopause, their vulva gradually shrinks as they age. It is not obvious at the beginning, but it becomes very obvious two to three years after menopause. First, the subcutaneous fat of the labia decreases, the elasticity decreases, the pubic hair falls off and becomes thinner, the labia majora becomes thin and flat, and the labia minora shrinks. As a result, the elasticity of the vaginal opening decreases, it shrinks and becomes less expandable, and the secretions of the Bartholin's glands decrease from little to nothing, further aggravating the discomfort and difficulty of inserting the penis during sexual intercourse.

2. Secondly, the occurrence of many diseases is unpredictable, especially some factors that lead to amenorrhea in women. However, we should know that when women reach menopause, their vaginal mucosal epithelial cells also begin to atrophy, causing the surface cells to fall off, and the remaining basal cells no longer grow, becoming thin, fragile, and susceptible to infection. The exudate of the mucosal epithelium changes from acidic to neutral, reducing the vagina's original ability to inhibit bacterial growth. In particular, the large-scale appearance of anaerobic bacteria produces the so-called senile vaginitis, with congested red spots in the subepithelial layer of the mucosa.

3. In addition, female friends must pay attention to their personal hygiene in life, especially during sexual intercourse, otherwise it will lead to the invasion of some bacteria. For menopausal women, the urethral mucosa will atrophy and thinning due to the decrease of estrogen and lack of hormonal stimulation, often showing a circle of capillaries at the urethral opening, or urethral mucosa eversion. The striated muscle tension of the urethra is reduced, which makes urinary incontinence more likely to occur, especially when coughing, sneezing or using abdominal pressure.
