How to use ovulation test strips to check whether ovulation has occurred? Parenting experts teach you how

If female friends want to know their ovulation status, the easiest way is to use an ovulation test strip. Usually, when ovulating, there are two lines on the test strip. The color of these two lines can tell whether ovulation has occurred. The following will teach you the correct view.

1. How to read ovulation test strips

How to read ovulation test strips? There are two lines on the ovulation test paper, namely the reflection line T and the control line C. By comparing the color depth of T and C, three results can be obtained: positive, negative and invalid:

1. Positive: The reaction line T and the control line C are equally dark in color, predicting ovulation within 48 hours. The reaction line T is darker than the control line C, predicting natural ovulation within (14-28) hours.

2. Negative: The reaction line T is lighter in color than the control line C or only one control line C appears, indicating that there has been no LH peak or the peak has passed.

3. Invalid: No control line C appears within 10 minutes.

2. When to use ovulation test strips

When should ovulation test strips be used? It is generally recommended to start using ovulation test strips on the tenth day of a woman's menstruation, and use them once a day to test whether ovulation has occurred. The best time to test is from 10 am to 8 pm every day. Try to use urine from almost the same time, with 2 pm to 2:30 pm being the best time. Because ovulation occurs about 14 days before the start of the next menstruation, the 5 days before and 4 days after ovulation, together with the ovulation day, a total of 10 days are called the ovulation period. Using ovulation test strips to measure ovulation during the ovulation period can detect whether ovulation has occurred. If couples are planning to get pregnant, they can have sex during ovulation to increase the chance of pregnancy.

The recommended time to use ovulation test strips is to start testing on the tenth day of menstruation, and test once a day. There are two kinds of results when using ovulation test strips: strong and weak:

1. If you find that it is gradually getting stronger, increase the frequency of testing. It is recommended to test every 4 hours. Try to get a strong positive result and seize the moment when the strong positive turns weak, because ovulation occurs when the strong positive turns weak.

2. If you find that the menstrual flow weakens rapidly, it means that ovulation may occur within 24 hours.

If you use ovulation test strips to self-test pregnancy at night, the accuracy will be affected. Because early morning urine generally has the highest HCG value, if you do not choose the best time for testing according to the instructions, it may affect the results. Generally speaking, the most accurate result will be obtained using the first urine excreted in the morning. Although a positive result is not as misdiagnosed as a negative result, there are many non-pregnancy factors that can cause a positive test result: blood in the urine, previous pregnancy (HCG hormone can be found after miscarriage, induced abortion or 8 weeks after childbirth), ovarian tumors and other diseases, or taking some fertility drugs.

3. Precautions for using ovulation test strips

1. For women with regular menstrual cycles, ovulation is usually about 14 days before the next menstruation. Therefore, the 2-3 days before ovulation and 1-2 days after ovulation are the fertile period. This is the stage when ovulation test strips need to be used for monitoring, which generally needs to be used for 5 consecutive days.

2. Start testing from the tenth day of menstruation and test once a day with an ovulation test strip. If you find that the blood pressure is gradually getting stronger, you should increase the frequency of testing. It is best to test every 4 hours. Try to get a strong positive result and seize the moment when the strong positive turns weak. Ovulation usually occurs when the strong positive turns weak. If you find that the pulse is weakening rapidly, it means the egg is about to break out of the shell. You must hurry up and ovulate within 24 hours.

3. The best time for testing is from 10 am to 8 pm every day, and try to use urine collected at almost the same time. The first urine in the morning cannot represent the actual value because of the LH value accumulated overnight, so it is best not to use it. In addition, do not drink too much water within 2 hours before the test to avoid diluting the luteinizing hormone in the urine and affecting the test results.
