Can a woman get pregnant if she has gynecological diseases?

Many women may be affected by gynecological diseases, and whether gynecological diseases can lead to pregnancy depends on the condition of the disease. Generally speaking, if gynecological diseases are not treated and controlled, they will affect pregnancy. Common gynecological diseases include vaginitis, pelvic inflammatory disease, adnexitis, etc.

1. Vaginitis

The vagina is adjacent to the urethra and anus, and is locally moist. Women of childbearing age have frequent sexual intercourse, and the vagina is a necessary path for childbirth and gynecological surgery, making it susceptible to external contamination or damage. Vaginitis is the most common disease, and fungal, bacterial and Trichomonas are the more common types.

2. Fungal vaginitis

The scientific name of candidal vaginitis is "vulvovaginal candidiasis (VVC)", which is caused by Candida. According to statistics, about 75% of women have suffered from it at least once in their lifetime, and 45% of women have experienced 2 or more episodes. During pregnancy, the body's immunity decreases, the normal vaginal environment changes, which is conducive to the growth of Candida, estrogen levels are high, and symptoms are more severe. After becoming ill during pregnancy, in a very small number of patients, pathogenic bacteria can ascend through the cervix. The incidence of premature rupture of membranes and perineal and vaginal lacerations in untreated patients is significantly higher than that in healthy patients and those who have been treated. Reports show that neonatal fungal infection is not related to vaginal delivery, but most pregnant women are worried about the impact on the fetus and their confidence in natural vaginal delivery, which leads to an increase in the cesarean section rate.

3. Bacterial vaginosis

Bacterial vaginosis is a mixed infection caused by the imbalance of normal vaginal flora and is associated with adverse pregnancy outcomes such as premature rupture of membranes and premature birth. Trichomonas vaginitis Trichomonas vaginitis is caused by Trichomonas vaginalis and is a common sexually transmitted disease. If the disease occurs during pregnancy, it can lead to premature rupture of membranes, premature birth and low birth weight. Treating symptomatic patients can alleviate symptoms, reduce transmission, and prevent respiratory and reproductive tract infections in neonates.
