There are many diseases surrounding the female uterus, one of which is called submucosal uterine fibroids. This is a relatively serious disease and patients will have many symptoms, such as uterine contraction, heavier menstrual flow, longer menstrual cycle, etc. 1. Submucosal fibroids enlarge the uterine cavity, affecting uterine contraction, which can cause increased menstrual flow and prolonged menstrual period. If the patient has excessive menstruation for a long time, it may lead to secondary anemia, and symptoms such as general fatigue, pale complexion, shortness of breath, and palpitations. When submucosal myoma necrosis is accompanied by infection, there will be irregular bleeding or purulent discharge. Huge submucosal fibroids may prolapse out of the vagina, and some patients seek medical treatment due to vaginal prolapse. Submucosal fibroids compress the fallopian tubes, causing them to twist, or deform the uterine cavity, thus preventing the fertilized egg from implanting and leading to infertility. 2. Increased leucorrhea The amount of vaginal discharge increases, sometimes with a large amount of purulent and bloody discharge and necrotic tissue discharge with a foul odor. 3. Infertility Fibroids compress the fallopian tubes, causing them to twist, or deform the uterine cavity, thus preventing the fertilized egg from implanting and leading to infertility. 4. Secondary anemia If the patient has excessive menstruation for a long time, it may lead to secondary anemia, and symptoms such as general fatigue, pale complexion, shortness of breath, and palpitations. 5. Menstrual changes It is the most common symptom, manifested as shortened menstrual cycle, increased menstrual flow, prolonged menstrual period, irregular vaginal bleeding, etc. 6. Infection and suppuration Fibroid infection is often the result of tumor pedicle torsion or acute endometritis; hematogenous infection is extremely rare. The infection may sometimes be purulent, and in a few cases, abscesses may form in the tumor tissue. After the pedicle of a subserosal myoma is twisted, intestinal adhesions may occur, which may be infected by intestinal bacteria. The inflamed myoma may adhere to the uterine appendages, causing purulent inflammation. 7. Uterine fibroid torsion Subserosal fibroids may twist at the pedicle, causing acute abdominal pain. If the tumor pedicle is severely torsioned and surgery is not performed immediately or the pedicle cannot be torsionally rotated, a free myoma may be formed due to the twisting of the pedicle, as mentioned above. The twisted fibroids can also pull the entire uterus and cause axial torsion of the uterus. |
