Precautions after HIFU surgery, postoperative care for cervical disease

HIFU surgery is an advanced treatment method for tumor removal. This method does not require surgery, is traumatic, does not cause bleeding, and has a quick recovery. Good care should be taken during the wound healing period after surgery. Sexual intercourse is prohibited within 2 months, and attention should be paid to private hygiene.

1. Notes

1. The wound takes about 2 months to heal. During this period, try to avoid sexual intercourse as much as possible, because sexual intercourse will not only affect the healing of the cervical wound due to mechanical stimulation, but may also cause vaginal inflammation, thus affecting the repair of normal cervical tissue. After treatment, a large amount of vaginal discharge often occurs due to wound healing, which sometimes causes certain inconvenience. Be careful to keep the vulva clean and wash it frequently, but do not use vaginal suppositories or do vaginal douching on your own.

2. You should also change your underwear frequently and use sanitary pads when necessary. One or two months after treatment, you should go to the hospital for a follow-up check to understand the healing status of the cervical wound so that you can recover as soon as possible. Recheck one week after surgery to record the wound repair, vaginal bleeding and secretions, and trace the pathological results; recheck after the first menstrual period after surgery to understand the cervical repair status and assist with other local treatments if necessary.

2. Advantages and characteristics of HIFU ultrasound focused knife treatment

1. The HIFU ultrasonic focused knife uses ultrasound as the treatment source, and effectively utilizes the physical properties of ultrasound such as good directionality, penetration and focusability in biological tissues. It concentrates the ultrasonic energy to form a focus through physical focusing (basically similar to the principle of a solar stove focusing sunlight to generate huge energy at the focus). After accurate positioning, it destroys cancer cells in the body from outside the body, causing coagulative necrosis of the tumor tissue, thereby losing the ability to proliferate, invade and metastasize. Generally speaking, tumors stop growing after treatment and are gradually absorbed by the body.

2. The HIFU ultrasonic focused knife uses ultrasound as the treatment source and color ultrasound to locate the cancer lesions in real time and monitor the treatment process, ensuring that the treatment effectively kills cancer cells. At the same time, it can selectively destroy small tumor blood vessels with a diameter of less than 2 mm, with almost no damage to larger blood vessels. This not only blocks the blood supply to the tumor and starves cancer cells to death, but also prevents new tumors from metastasizing through blood vessels. At the same time, it provides a new treatment option for patients whose tumors are adjacent to large blood vessels and cannot undergo surgery.

3. Most traditional cancer treatments involve destructive surgeries, such as high amputation for osteosarcoma patients, breast removal for breast cancer patients, and kidney removal for kidney cancer patients. Because the HIFU ultrasonic focused knife can accurately destroy tumor tissue and protect as much normal tissue as possible, it is beneficial to preserve the normal tissue and function of the cancerous organ, making it possible for breast cancer patients to retain their breasts and for patients with limb malignant tumors to retain their limbs. (It has been 10 years since Haifu completed the world's first breast-conserving treatment for malignant breast cancer and the world's first limb-conserving treatment for malignant bone tumors in 1998, and both patients are alive.)
