How to detect postpartum depression? These methods can help you

Postpartum depression is quite harmful. Some people don’t even know whether they have this mental illness. In fact, because postpartum depression has some obvious symptoms, you can test yourself based on whether you have these symptoms.

1. Symptoms persist for more than two weeks. The symptoms here mainly refer to low mood, unwillingness to move, lack of interest in anything, unwillingness to communicate with anyone, and wanting to cry... In terms of time, the symptoms are relatively severe after getting up in the morning, and get better in the afternoon and evening;

2. Unable to lead a normal life. This depends on the original living habits and patterns, including diet, sleep and work. For a woman who has just given birth, work is definitely not an issue, so it mainly depends on her diet and sleep to see if they are unable to function normally.

3. Having thoughts or impulses to harm yourself or your baby.

4. What are you always worried about, afraid of, or anxious about? What is it specifically? I can’t explain it clearly. It’s a pain and feeling of helplessness that cannot be expressed in words.

5. Appetite increases or decreases significantly. The weight gain or loss of patients with postpartum depression varies greatly.

6. Feeling listless, anxious or lethargic. Patients with postpartum depression often get angry or sad over trivial matters, or remain silent, eat or drink for several days.

7. Patients with postpartum depression are in a state of abnormal fatigue or weakness, have poor sleep or severe insomnia, and are always drowsy during the day.

8. Unable to concentrate, with disorganized language expression, most patients with postpartum depression lack logical thinking and comprehensive judgment ability.

9. Patients with postpartum depression usually have a strong sense of inferiority, often involuntarily blame themselves excessively, are very unconfident about being a mother, and may develop a lack of confidence in everything.

10. Patients with postpartum depression feel extremely low during the day, and neither the comfort of their husbands nor the care of their family members can make them feel better. However, they feel high at night, showing a phenomenon of day and night reversal.
