Does cervical hypertrophy affect fertility? Be careful of infertility

One of the most common gynecological diseases is cervical hypertrophy, which is a chronic cervicitis. Many of them are caused by uncured acute cervicitis. Cervical hypertrophy still has an impact on female fertility, and infertility caused by cervical hypertrophy is becoming more and more common.

1. Does cervical hypertrophy affect fertility?

Cervical hypertrophy is often caused by cervical cysts of varying sizes appearing at the cervical opening, which aggravates inflammation and causes cervical hypertrophy. Cervical hypertrophy will affect fertility. Due to the hypertrophy, congestion and swelling of the cervix, if it is not treated in time, it may cause blockage of the cervical opening during delivery, making it difficult to dilate, and may also cause cervical tearing.

Therefore, female patients should seek timely treatment to avoid delayed treatment, which may cause endometritis, salpingo-oophoritis, fallopian tube adhesions and blockage, which will not only cause many impacts on female patients but may also cause infertility.

2. Physical therapy

1. Electric ironing: Use the electric iron head to touch the eroded surface to coagulate the tissue and form a scab. The scab will begin to fall off after about two weeks, and it usually takes 6 to 8 weeks for the wound to heal. The operation should be performed 3 to 5 days after the end of menstruation. Do not use if you have adnexitis. After treatment, leucorrhea may temporarily increase or cause bleeding. If there is a lot of bleeding, use sterile gauze to apply pressure to stop the bleeding and remove it after 24 hours. The disadvantage is that scar contraction may sometimes lead to cervical stenosis.

2. Cryotherapy: Use a liquid nitrogen rapid cooling device, place the probe on the eroded surface for 1 to 3 minutes, remove it after natural rewarming, and cause the diseased tissue to freeze and necrotize. A lot of watery discharge may occur 2 to 3 weeks after treatment. The advantage is that bleeding and cervical stenosis occur less frequently.

3. Laser treatment: Laser carbonizes and forms scabs on the eroded tissue, and the healing process is the same as the previous two treatment methods.

The above are several common situations of uterine hypertrophy. In order to detect uterine hypertrophy early and provide timely treatment, you need to pay attention to your physical condition. If there are any abnormalities, you should go to the hospital for examination and treatment as soon as possible.
