The harm of adnexitis, these manifestations have a great impact

Adnexitis is also very common among gynecological inflammations. There are acute and chronic adnexitis. The symptoms of different adnexitis have a great impact on patients, such as high fever, increased vaginal discharge, chills, loss of appetite, irregular menstruation, etc., which require timely examination and treatment, and good care.

1. Symptoms and Signs

Clinical manifestations of acute salpingo-oophoritis: lower abdominal pain and fever, the degree of which varies slightly depending on the severity of inflammation. Some patients have chills before high fever. Headache and loss of appetite are common, and increased leucorrhea is caused by the discharge of salpingitis secretions through the uterine cavity. Some cases have intestinal and bladder irritation symptoms.

Clinical manifestations of chronic salpingo-oophoritis: subacute onset and temporary relief of lower abdominal pain and low fever, as well as lumbar soreness, a feeling of heaviness, and pain during sexual intercourse. The symptoms may recur and worsen after fatigue, sexual intercourse, and menstruation. Patients with a long course of illness may have neurosis, such as lack of energy, fatigue, general discomfort, insomnia, etc.

2. Examination of adnexitis

Gynecological examination

Complete blood test

Urinalysis

Gynecological Ultrasound

During examination of acute salpingo-oophoritis, purulent or homogeneous mucous leucorrhea may be found, and the adnexa are often tender and painful. Sometimes, an inflammatory mass with adhesions of the fallopian tube and ovary can be palpated, with unclear boundaries and restricted movement.

Examination of chronic salpingo-oophoritis will reveal tenderness in the lower abdomen, and pelvic examination will reveal thickening and tenderness on both sides of the uterus, and sometimes an enlarged, fixed cystic mass can be felt.

Generally speaking, there are no abnormalities found in B-ultrasound examination, unless there is hydrosalpinx or tubal ovarian cyst formation, in which case a mass may be found in ultrasound examination.

3. Nursing

1. Avoid sexual intercourse during menstruation

Avoid sexual intercourse during menstruation to avoid infection. Pay attention to the cleanliness of menstrual pads and it is best to use sterilized toilet paper.

2. Drink water

Adnexitis can easily cause fever, so be sure to drink plenty of water to lower your body temperature.

3. Avoid unnecessary gynecological examinations

Try to avoid unnecessary gynecological examinations to prevent the infection from spreading and the inflammation from spreading.

4. Medical staff must strictly follow aseptic operation

Medical staff should strictly disinfect and adhere to aseptic operating procedures during delivery and abortion intrauterine surgery to avoid infection and adnexitis. For prevention purposes, antibiotics should be taken appropriately after surgery to prevent infection.
