Symptoms of chronic cholecystitis in women

Women are very prone to some gallbladder diseases, such as cholecystitis, which is very common among women. When women have cholecystitis, it may cause some uncomfortable symptoms in the body, and patients can deal with the condition in time from these symptoms. So what are the symptoms of cholecystitis in women? Below I will introduce to you the three symptoms of cholecystitis in women.

1. Pain in the right upper abdomen: When a woman suffers from cholecystitis, it may cause a bloating and pain in the right upper abdomen. The pain will worsen when the posture changes or when inhaling. In addition, radiating pain may also occur in the left arm or back.

2. Upper abdominal discomfort after overeating: Patients with cholecystitis are very likely to experience upper abdominal discomfort after meals, which may cause a feeling of fullness in the right upper abdomen, or persistent pain with intermittent aggravation. Some patients may also experience other discomforts, such as fever, nausea and retching. During the examination, it was found that the right upper abdomen was round, the abdominal muscles in the gallbladder area were tense, and there was obvious tenderness and throbbing pain.

3. Other symptoms: Most patients with cholecystitis will experience biliary indigestion, such as aversion to high-calorie foods, upper abdominal distension, hiccups, and heartburn. If it is acute cholecystitis, many patients may have an attack of the disease late at night after eating a greasy dinner, causing abdominal pain. If it is chronic cholecystitis, the symptoms are not so obvious. Generally, indigestion will occur, and discomfort such as abdominal distension, hiccups, etc. may occur. Some patients with chronic cholecystitis may suffer from subacute onset due to stones blocking the gallbladder duct. During examination, slight tenderness or percussion pain may be found in the abdomen. If there is water in the gallbladder, a smooth, ring-shaped cystic lump may be felt.

The above are some of the possible symptoms of cholecystitis in women. If a woman suffers from gallstones, she is very likely to develop cholecystitis. Therefore, it is recommended that patients with gallstones should pay attention to observe some changes in themselves. Once they find any uncomfortable symptoms such as cholecystitis, they should seek medical attention in time for timely prevention to prevent cholecystitis or gallstones from causing greater harm to their health.
