What affects the length of your menstrual cycle?

The menstrual cycle, also known as the physiological period, is a female's physiological cycle. The menstrual cycle is also a cyclic process. Many people do not know what factors affect the length of the menstrual cycle. Generally speaking, women's living habits and eating habits are an important factor affecting changes in the menstrual cycle.

1. Changes in external conditions

Irregular daily living habits, getting up early and going to bed late without good rest, or sudden cold or hot weather can cause menstrual disorders in women.

2. Nutritional status

Some young women lose weight for a slim figure, but this is incorrect. Experts point out that excessive dieting can also affect changes in women's menstrual cycle.

3. Mental factors

Abnormal fluctuations in emotions such as excessive tension, sadness, joy, etc. will inevitably interfere with the normal work of the central nervous system, thereby affecting the regulation of ovarian function that determines menstrual changes and causing menstrual disorders.

4. Physical condition

Local inflammation, tumors, developmental abnormalities, and malnutrition of the reproductive organs. Other endocrine disorders such as thyroid and adrenal cortex dysfunction, diabetes, Sheehan's disease, etc. Menstrual irregularities may occur in women who use drugs to treat mental illnesses, endocrine preparations, or intrauterine devices for contraception.

5. Disease

Menstrual irregularity is a common gynecological disease, manifested by abnormal menstrual cycle or bleeding volume, or abdominal pain and systemic symptoms before and during menstruation. The cause may be organic lesions or functional disorders. Blood diseases, hypertension, liver diseases, endocrine diseases, miscarriage, ectopic pregnancy, hydatidiform mole, reproductive tract infection, tumors (such as ovarian cysts, uterine fibroids), etc. can all cause menstrual disorders.

6. Ovarian problems

Menstrual irregularities in women of childbearing age are generally due to poor ovarian corpus luteum function, which often manifests as a period but a shortened period or heavy menstrual bleeding. This is the most common cause of menstrual irregularities.

7. Organic diseases or drugs, etc.

Including local inflammation, tumors and developmental abnormalities, malnutrition of the reproductive organs; intracranial diseases; other endocrine dysfunctions such as thyroid and adrenal cortex dysfunction, diabetes, Sheehan's disease, etc.; liver diseases; blood diseases, etc.
