Can hydatidiform mole be cured by medical abortion?

If a hydatidiform mole occurs, medical abortion is not recommended. Surgical curettage should be performed because some hydatidiform moles are malignant. Complete hydatidiform mole requires chemotherapy, so you must pay attention to taking the best treatment method.

1. It is best to have a surgical curettage. First of all, hydatidiform mole is divided into two categories: malignant hydatidiform mole, also known as choriocarcinoma; benign hydatidiform mole is divided into two categories, complete hydatidiform mole (also known as invasive hydatidiform mole, requiring chemotherapy) and incomplete hydatidiform mole. When a hydatidiform mole is diagnosed, a pathological analysis should be performed immediately after the first curettage to determine whether it is malignant or benign. If the result is benign, a second case - immunohistochemistry - is required to further determine whether chemotherapy is needed.

2. After two pathological analyses, it was determined to be an incomplete hydatidiform mole, and chemotherapy is not required. If the uterine curettage is not thorough, honeycomb tissue will appear in the uterus, that is, the residual hydatidiform mole, and there may be metastasis of hydatidiform mole lesions in the lungs. Hydatidiform mole can transform, and it is possible to transform within 5 years after the onset of hydatidiform mole. Mild cases will transform into invasive ones, and severe cases will transform into malignant hydatidiform mole, that is, choriocarcinoma. Lung metastasis is the most common, and if it is discovered late, coughing up blood may occur.

3. If it is a hydatidiform mole, it is recommended to go to a provincial hospital for treatment. If you miss the best treatment period, you will need more courses of treatment. Hydatidiform mole is related to environmental pollution, pesticide residues, or the abuse of chemicals or preparations in the living environment. Ultrasound examinations and blood HCG tests should be performed on time. The normal index is 0-4, which is less than 5. Once it exceeds the normal index, you should see a doctor immediately.
