The difference between functional uterine bleeding and menstruation is that the former causes more bleeding.

Many women do not understand the difference between functional uterine bleeding and menstruation, so they fail to detect functional uterine bleeding in time. Functional uterine bleeding is common among menopausal women. It can cause frequent menstruation and a large amount of menstruation, so it should be diagnosed and treated in time.

1. Frequent menstruation:

Heavy menstrual flow is reflected in a shortened menstrual cycle, generally less than 21 days, but the amount of bleeding and the number of days of bleeding are relatively normal.

2. Ovulation bleeding:

About 10 days after the menstruation ends, there will be a small amount of vaginal bleeding, which will stop in a day or two. This is ovulation bleeding. Dysfunctional uterine bleeding is a disease in which bleeding occurs frequently. The amount of bleeding is greater than that of menstruation and the duration is also longer. Therefore, most patients will feel anemia and fatigue, and their spirits are very bad. If the condition is serious, they may go into shock or even die. Therefore, if vaginal bleeding continues for a long time, it should be taken seriously.

3. Heavy menstrual flow:

Generally speaking, the menstrual cycle is normal, but the amount of bleeding each time is excessive, sometimes even reaching several hundred milliliters.

4. Irregular uterine bleeding:

Menstruation is either early or late, with no regularity at all.

5. Continuous menstruation:

Although some women have normal menstrual cycles, they may have a small amount of dark-colored bleeding for several days before their period, and heavy bleeding a few days after their period. Bleeding may continue for more than ten days before and after their period.

Correctly judging whether you have dysfunctional uterine bleeding or irregular menstruation will help patients discover their condition early and go to the hospital for further examination in time to clarify their condition and receive treatment early.
