Why does my stomach hurt when I’m hungry? How to identify and diagnose its symptoms

When many women care about their figure, they always like to use the method of dieting, which can easily cause stomach problems, stomach pain after meals, stomach pain due to cold, and in severe cases, stomach pain when hungry. These are all caused by long-term irregular diet and unbalanced nutrition. So what is the reason for stomach pain when you are hungry?

In life, some patients often feel stomach pain when they are hungry, accompanied by a burning sensation. If they eat some food at this time, the symptoms will usually be relieved. This situation is clinically called hunger stomach pain. Experts say that this phenomenon of stomach pain when hungry is usually common in duodenal ulcers, or more precisely, duodenal bulb ulcers. Experts say that duodenal bulb ulcer is the most common organic lesion among gastrointestinal diseases and often recurs clinically.

Patients with duodenal bulb ulcer often experience pain attacks before each meal, and are often awakened in the middle of the night by pain due to an empty stomach. They have to get up in the middle of the night to eat something to fill their hunger before they can fall asleep peacefully. The main reason is that when the human body is hungry, gastric acid is usually secreted in large quantities. If the food is not broken down and enters the duodenum directly after neutralization, it will stimulate the ulcer surface and induce stomach pain symptoms.

In addition to hunger-related stomach pain, patients usually also have symptoms such as abdominal distension, anorexia, and belching. Like gastric ulcers, if not treated in time, duodenal bulb ulcers will gradually become more serious and even cause lesions, including perforation, bleeding, anemia, obstruction, and even the threat of cancer.

How to differentially diagnose duodenal ulcer: Professor Liu Chuntian, an old Chinese medicine practitioner, said that except for hunger stomach pain, other clinical symptoms of duodenal ulcer are not specific, so the diagnostic examination needs to be distinguished from other easily confused diseases.

Functional dyspepsia is characterized by upper abdominal pain or bloating, but it may also have symptoms such as acid reflux and belching, which can be easily confused with duodenal bulb ulcer; gastric cancer may cause abdominal pain, anemia, weight loss and other symptoms, which need to be distinguished from it; the symptoms of duodenal hookworm disease may be similar to those of duodenal bulb ulcer; in addition, there are diseases such as gastrinoma.

Traditional Chinese medicine emphasizes comprehensive conditioning of factors that affect gastrointestinal function, thereby enhancing the body's own comprehensive immunity, and by adjusting the microcirculation of the gastrointestinal tract and surrounding organs, promoting the natural division and renewal of gastrointestinal mucosal cells to achieve self-healing of inflammation. The effect is more lasting and the recurrence rate is lower. It has a good therapeutic effect, especially for chronic patients who have not been cured for a long time and patients with irreversible external factors.

Warm reminder: If you find yourself suffering from hunger-related stomach pain in your daily life, you should not take it lightly. The correct attitude should be to go to a regular hospital for examination and treatment in time.
