How to use internal tampons

How to use internal tampons

Internal tampons were developed based on the original sanitary napkins. More women abroad use internal tampons, but the opposite is true in China. Many women are afraid that improper use of tampons will damage the hymen, that tampons will fall out, or that improper use will cause gynecological inflammation. Next, let’s take a look at how to use an internal tampon!

Internal tampons are also called catheter tampons, which are divided into three parts: outer catheter, inner catheter, and pull line. Take out the tampon, press one end of the pull string with your index finger, and insert the other end into the vagina, making sure to push it slowly into the vagina at a 45° angle.

The replacement interval will also vary from person to person and according to menstrual flow. The user can use the presence of menstrual blood seepage on the cotton thread as a basis for replacement.

When going to the toilet, the cotton thread is easily contaminated by excrement. If the cotton thread is found to be contaminated, a new tampon should be replaced.

However, when using tampons, you must pay attention to the cleanliness of your hands and vulva. Wash your hands before inserting the tampon into the vagina, and do not touch the catheter and tampon that enters the vagina to avoid bringing bacteria into the vagina. The time to change the tampon depends on the amount of menstrual blood. It is usually changed every 2 to 4 hours and must be removed within 8 hours, because the tampon stays in the vagina for too long and can easily cause pelvic infection.

You can still use tampons during sleep at night, but since the night time is longer, you can choose tampons with weaker absorption to use with sanitary napkins. If you still have health concerns, you can use sanitary napkins instead.

Some women use sanitary napkins in order to engage in activities such as swimming and hot spring bathing during their menstrual week. Due to the physiological structure of the human body, water will not enter the vagina. However, when using sanitary napkins to engage in such activities, attention should still be paid to hygiene and cleanliness.

Some people also worry that the cotton thread (drawstring) will break. Since tampons are high-density compressed bodies, the cotton thread is tightly pressed into the tampon body, so that the cotton thread can withstand a tensile force of more than three kilograms, and there is no need to worry about the cotton thread being broken. Therefore, as long as they are used properly, tampons will not affect your health.

If you can follow the above usage methods and precautions, generally there will not be too many problems. If you are really worried, don't use an internal tampon. If you still want to use an internal tampon, consult a professional. If a woman has vaginitis, she must be more careful when using it and it is better to use sanitary napkins.
