harm

Hypertrophy of uterus refers to a disease in which the uterus is uniformly enlarged, the muscle layer thickness exceeds 2.5 cm, and is accompanied by varying degrees of uterine bleeding.

Cervical hypertrophy is a type of chronic cervicitis. Inflammatory changes caused by pathogens infecting the cervical mucosa. The pathogens that cause cervical hypertrophy include mycoplasma, chlamydia, bacteria, and viruses. It is recommended that you go to the hospital's gynecology department to have a cervical secretion examination and receive symptomatic treatment based on the examination results. If necessary, a cervical TCT examination can be performed to rule out early cervical cancer. Simple cervical hypertrophy will not affect pregnancy, but severe cervicitis can cause endometritis, salpingo-oophoritis, fallopian tube adhesions and blockage, leading to infertility.

After pregnancy, due to hormonal changes, it may be difficult to determine whether cervical hypertrophy still exists. Severe cervical hypertrophy can affect delivery. Pregnant women should receive treatment if their platelet count continues to decrease during pregnancy. If it remains at a certain level, they can be observed.

Causes

(1) Chronic incomplete uterine involution in multiparous women: The elastic fiber tissue in the uterine myometrium of multiparous women proliferates between the smooth muscles and around the blood vessels, causing uterine hypertrophy.

(ii) Ovarian dysfunction: Continuous stimulation of estrogen can cause thickening of the uterine muscle layer. Clinically, patients with functional uterine bleeding, especially those with a long course of illness, often have varying degrees of uterine enlargement.

(III) Caused by inflammation: Chronic adnexitis, pelvic connective tissue inflammation and chronic uterine myositis, which cause the proliferation of collagen fibers in the myometrium and lead to uterine fibrosis.

(iv) Pelvic congestion causes proliferation of uterine connective tissue and may also lead to uterine hypertrophy.

(V) Myometrial vascular sclerosis: primary uterine vascular disease, etc.
