How harmful is obesity to women?

Female obesity has become a very common problem in today's society. Generally speaking, many girls will do whatever it takes to lose weight in order to maintain their figure. However, some friends do not pay attention to their appearance, which leads to overnutrition or too much nutrition in their diet, which will cause obesity. The harm caused by obesity is very great. How harmful is obesity to women?

In addition to the common hazards of obesity, obesity in women also has its own particularities. Common hazards mainly refer to the complications caused by obesity, such as hypertension, insulin resistance and diabetes, dyslipidemia, coronary heart disease, pulmonary insufficiency, cholelithiasis, gout, etc., as well as the disability and death caused by these complications. The particularity is determined by the physiological characteristics of women.

Obese girls may experience early puberty, premature menarche, and premature breast development. For adult women, obesity can increase the risk of cancer because estrogen in women is produced in fat tissue.

The more fat tissue there is, the more estrogen is synthesized, so the estrogen level in obese women is higher than that in normal women. The higher the estrogen level, the greater the risk of endometrial cancer and postmenopausal breast cancer. Therefore, obese women are at much greater risk of developing these two gynecological tumors. Increased estrogen may also cause or aggravate lower limb edema.

In addition, because hyperinsulinemia can stimulate the ovaries to produce excessive androgens, the level of free testosterone in the body may be higher than that of ordinary women, causing women to have masculine manifestations such as hirsutism, and may also cause menstrual disorders or even amenorrhea and infertility. Severe cases may present as polycystic ovary syndrome.

Even if you get pregnant, you are prone to too many pregnancy complications, such as pregnancy-induced hypertension and gestational diabetes, as well as fetal developmental abnormalities and abnormal body positions, and difficult labor. Obese women have too much fat on their abdominal walls, which makes it difficult for doctors to perform prenatal examinations.

If a caesarean section is required, the operation will be very inconvenient. In addition, obese women are more likely to suffer from osteoarthritis than men, middle-aged women are more likely to suffer from cholelithiasis, women with abdominal obesity are more likely to suffer from gout, and so on. In short, obesity can bring a lot of trouble to women.

Obesity is very harmful to women. Don’t think that obese people are in good health. In fact, this is not the case. On the contrary, obese friends have poor digestive systems, which causes fat to increase. Obese patients may also suffer from amenorrhea and infertility. In severe cases, they will show signs of dystocia after pregnancy.
