Is menopause the same as menopause?

As women get older, they may experience dizziness, tinnitus, and irritability. Especially psychologically, it is easy to get anxious and suffer from insomnia and nightmares when sleeping at night. The physical condition also begins to deteriorate significantly, and these symptoms combined are the symptoms of menopause. So is menopause the same as menopause? Let us introduce it in detail below.

In reality, many people think that menopause refers to

Menopause, in fact, these are two medical concepts with completely different meanings.

Menopause refers to a period of transition from the decline of gonadal function in women to its complete loss; while menopause simply refers to the cessation of menstruation. That is to say, although menopause is a clear sign of menopause, it is only a milestone in menopause and does not include the entire process of menopause. There is a stage of gradual ovarian decline before menopause. According to surveys, it is about 2-4 years before menopause, and the length varies in different people. This is called premenopause. After menopause, ovarian function becomes even lower, but it does not necessarily disappear completely immediately. It usually takes 2-3 years, but sometimes it can last up to 6-8 years, or even longer. Therefore, menopause is the sum of premenopause, menopause and postmenopause, so some scholars call it perimenopause. In 1994, the World Health Organization (WHO) also proposed a new definition of perimenopause to replace the term menopause at a conference on the progress of menopause research in the 1990s. Perimenopause can be as short as 2-3 years, or as long as 8-12 years.

Some scholars have suggested that in order to prevent the impact of menopause from being ignored and to avoid seeking medical treatment when the situation becomes difficult to deal with, medical personnel and women's health workers need to provide publicity, education and consultation for women over 40 years old, popularize self-protection knowledge of menopause, and enable them to know when and from whom to seek treatment. The whole society should provide assistance by developing some feasible screening clinics or establishing institutions to provide early diagnosis and treatment of menopausal syndrome for women over 40 years old. Waiting until after menopause to start taking health care measures is too late for many people.

Is menopause the same as menopause? This is a question that many women want to know. After reading the above introduction, everyone should have a clearer answer in their minds. After the symptoms of menopause occur, it is necessary to adopt comprehensive methods for treatment in a timely manner. While using medication, it is also necessary to give the patient more psychological comfort.
