What to do if your heels crack after giving birth

The incidence of cracked heels after giving birth is very high in winter. It may be caused by the cold weather that causes our skin to freeze and crack. After giving birth, our mothers' bodies are particularly weak, which makes it very easy for various diseases to invade. Therefore, we must do the relevant nursing work and learn what to do if the heels crack after giving birth.

1. There are two main reasons for cracked heels. One is dry skin, dehydration of the stratum corneum, and cracked skin due to lack of water. The other is caused by fungal infection. During the confinement period, due to the deficiency of qi and blood after childbirth, the skin cannot be well nourished. The skin moisture is generally worse than usual. In addition, the physical condition is weaker than usual, which makes it easy to be infected by various bacteria, viruses, and fungi. Therefore, wearing slippers frequently during the confinement period is very likely to cause cracked heels for mothers who are not in good physical condition.

If your heels are cracked simply due to dry skin, soak your feet and apply moisturizer or glycerin. Soak your feet in hot water to soften the cuticle, dry them gently and immediately apply urea cream or glycerin, then wear cotton socks to sleep. If there are also symptoms such as itchy feet or blisters, athlete's foot is the main concern. You can soak your feet in rice vinegar or glacial acetic acid. After soaking, remember to apply urea cream or glycerin moisturizer to keep the skin hydrated. You can also take oral vitamins.

After giving birth, mothers can use the foot soaking method to help us effectively promote blood circulation in the feet, which can greatly reduce the chance of heel cracking after giving birth. At the same time, we can also apply some erythromycin ointment, which can help us to cure the skin disease of cracked heels.
