What happens if the prolactin follicles are high?

Lactogen is related to breast development and milk secretion. When the level of lactogen is too high, it will be harmful to women's body. Therefore, it is necessary to pay certain attention, especially for women who are preparing for pregnancy. Does high prolactin mean ovulation? Let us master it.

Does high prolactin mean ovulation?

Excessive levels of lactogen can affect ovulation.

Excessive levels of lactogen can cause infertility. The increase of lactone can significantly inhibit the normal secretion of pituitary gonadotropins (such as follicle-stimulating hormone and progesterone), affecting the normal development of eggs, ovulation function and reproduction function. Reduced follicle-stimulating hormone secretion will directly lead to uterine development disorders in the uterus and ovaries, weak or incomplete growth (B-ultrasound observation can show eggs with a diameter of less than 18mm or smaller), and ultimately infertility; while insufficient estrogen (progesterone) secretion will lead to imperfect corpus luteum function, which cannot support the fertilized egg to continue embryo implantation and growth (such as measuring ovulation temperature, it will show a low temperature phase below 36.8℃), making it difficult to get pregnant, and even if pregnancy occurs, miscarriage is very likely to occur.

In addition, excessive secretion of lactone will cause the uterus and ovaries to lose the necessary response ability to gonadotropin, and the production of estrogen and estrogen will be significantly reduced, causing the estrogen that plays a key role in the pregnancy process to show low levels, directly affecting the reproductive function. When the amount of estrogen drops to a certain level, the patient will also experience many symptoms similar to menopause.

High prolactin symptoms

1. High prolactin causes milk secretion:

Milk secretion after childbirth is a sign of hyperprolactinuria, accounting for about 1/3 to 2/3 of hyperprolactinuria. About 30% of cases are not accompanied by increased prolactin and exist simultaneously with amenorrhea, which is often referred to as "amenorrhea and lactation syndrome." If high prolactin, amenorrhea, and milk secretion exist at the same time, then 2/3 of them have pituitary tumors.

2. High prolactin can easily cause female infertility:

High prolactin acts on the pituitary gland, inhibiting the metabolism of FSH and LH. If FSH is too low, the egg cannot be perfected; if LH is too low, the LH peak cannot occur, thus no ovulation occurs and infertility occurs. When the blood prolactin concentration rises, the prolactin level in the egg fluid also rises, the estrogen level decreases, the granulosa cells decrease significantly, and the secretion of progesterone decreases, causing luteal insufficiency and causing infertility or.

3. High prolactin causes infrequent menstruation or amenorrhea:

The menstrual period may be normal in the early stage, but gradually it becomes infrequent menstruation and even amenorrhea. Characteristics of amenorrhea: low levels of luteinizing hormone (LH), disappearance of normal fluctuations, and anovulation.
