Urethra redness and swelling in women is a common symptom of gynecological diseases. This situation mainly occurs because the patient has poor hygiene habits, or some chronic diseases are not treated well, leading to urinary tract infection. After this happens, if it cannot be treated and controlled well. This may lead to more serious diseases. Now let me introduce why the urethra is red and swollen.

Redness and swelling of the urethral orifice is a manifestation of inflammatory infection of the urogenital system. There are many factors that lead to redness and swelling of the urethral orifice in women. If there is redness and swelling of the urethral orifice, it is necessary to check it in time and carry out targeted treatment according to the condition. 80% of the pathogens that cause urinary tract inflammation are intestinal Escherichia coli, Proteus, and Streptococcus faecalis. Acute simple urinary tract infection is mostly caused by one pathogen, and it is a chronic, recurrent infection.

1. Gonococcal urethritis: It is a common sexually transmitted disease, which mainly manifests clinically as acute urethritis. The main symptoms are increased leucorrhea with pus, lower abdominal pain and frequent urination. In addition, the symptoms of chronic infection are not as obvious as those in the acute phase, and may sometimes be accompanied by cervicitis, Bartholinitis, endometritis, salpingitis, etc.

Some patients have symptoms such as urinary pain and urethral itching; sometimes it is inflammation and erosion of the cervix, increased secretions; vaginal and vulva itching, lower abdominal discomfort and other symptoms.

3. Fungal urethritis: It is an inflammatory lesion of the urethra caused by fungi. Clinically, it manifests as itching in the urethra, a burning sensation during urination, a small amount of secretions, which are watery or mucous, and a few are red or black; painful urination, redness and edema around the vulva, and various changes in the epidermis.

4. Trichomonas urethritis: also known as "urethral trichomoniasis", the main clinical manifestations are persistent vaginitis, increased vaginal secretions, which are serous or purulent, thinner, with small bubbles in the secretions, fishy odor, and yellow-green color; there is pain during sexual intercourse; sometimes accompanied by symptoms such as difficulty urinating and vulvar itching.
