Does low menstrual flow generally lead to obesity?

Frequent menstruation often brings a lot of trouble to many female friends, and scanty menstruation is a very common phenomenon. Many female friends will experience headaches or vomiting to varying degrees when their menstrual flow is scanty. Some serious patients will even go into shock. Therefore, when scanty menstruation occurs, most female friends are particularly worried. Although this is not an independent disease, it is a symptom of many diseases, so you must go to the hospital for a detailed examination. Scanty menstruation can also lead to obesity.

Irregular menstruation is just a symptom, and there are many diseases that can cause this condition. You should go to the hospital in time to check the cause of the disorder.

To treat imbalance, we should first find out the cause of the imbalance. Each link in the reproductive endocrine axis must be in a normal state. If there is a problem in any link, the corresponding hormone level will also change. Therefore, women with irregular menstruation must check their hormone levels and ovarian function. Do six electrochemiluminescence hormone tests (preferably on the third to fifth day of menstruation) and four-dimensional vaginal color ultrasound. Remember not to take medicine blindly, because menstrual regulating drugs are all hormonal drugs, which not only affect various aspects of the body but also disrupt the endocrine system if the cause of the disease has not been identified. If amenorrhea occurs or endocrine disorders are severe, a pituitary stimulation test should be considered.

Generally speaking, light menstrual blood flow is caused by low estrogen levels. Estrogen stimulates the thickening of the endometrium in preparation for conception. If conception does not occur, the proliferating endometrium will shed and bleed to form menstruation. Low estrogen levels in the body can cause the endometrium to not grow thick enough and cause less bleeding during menstruation.

Oligomenorrhea refers to a menstrual disorder in which the amount of menstrual blood is significantly less than normal, or even stops with a single drop, or the menstrual period lasts less than 2 days and the amount is less than 20mL. Low menstrual volume is a common gynecological disease and a manifestation of irregular menstruation.

Irregular menstruation can cause unhealthy conditions in various organs of the body and may also cause weight gain, so active treatment should be sought. The amount of menstrual flow varies from woman to woman, but is generally around 30 to 100 ml. Changing sanitary napkins or paper 3 to 5 times a day is considered normal. If the amount is less than 30 ml, it is called scanty menstruation. It specifically refers to a basically normal menstrual cycle with a significantly reduced menstrual volume, or even just a few drops of menstrual fluid; or a menstrual period that is shortened to less than two days with a small amount of menstrual volume. Oligomenorrhea is often associated with late menstruation and is often accompanied by weight gain.

This is because when your menstrual flow is small, all organs in your body show abnormalities, and the estrogen in your body will begin to decline, leading to endocrine disorders. Such long-term endocrine disorders will inevitably cause weight gain, so you must actively carry out some treatment. If it leads to obesity, some high blood pressure, high blood sugar and other diseases will also occur, which will be more difficult to treat.
