The location of the female hymen

The location of the female hymen

When it comes to the rupture of the hymen, many people associate it with chastity. In fact, this is a rather "straight man" incorrect cognition. So, what is the real effect of a broken hymen? Where is it located? Where is the hymen of a girl? The following article will provide you with the most comprehensive popularization of physiological hygiene. Let's have a simple understanding of this issue. I hope the following points will be helpful to everyone!

Where is the hymen broken?

The hymen is a hollow plastic film covering the outer opening of a woman's vagina, about 1 to 2 mm thick. The front and back of the membrane are moist mucous membranes. There is connective tissue, capillaries and nerve endings in the middle of the double layer of mucous membranes. The small round hole in the middle is called the hymen hole.

The hole in the hymen allows menstrual fluid to drain out of the vagina. When they are born, the hymen of most girls is broken in a ring shape, that is, its tissue is evenly distributed in all parts of the vulva. When the baby girl grows to about 3 years old, the crescent-shaped rupture of the hymen becomes more and more common. The hymen on the side of the vulva facing the clitoris has less ruptured tissue, while the hymen on the side away from the clitoris has more ruptured tissue.

How is the hymen formed ?

Before adulthood, because the uterus and ovaries have not grown and developed, the lack of estrogen can cause the hymen to break and soften. At this stage, its flexion and extension are weak and it is relatively sensitive. When entering late adulthood, changes in estrogen levels will cause the hymen to gradually thicken, and its elasticity will continue to increase. Vaginal intercourse does not necessarily cause the hymen to rupture (depending on the shape of the ruptured hymen), or it may leave a shallow crack.

During pregnancy, due to the rise in estrogen levels, the hymen will thicken and stretch again, which will cause the hymen to be completely torn during pregnancy. Of course, if you have never given birth, then with the arrival of menopause, the estrogen level will decrease and the hymen will become very thin and sensitive after it is broken.
