What causes bleeding in PCOS?

Women's reproductive health is now being paid attention to by more and more people. It is not only related to the lives of girls themselves, but also to family harmony and the reproduction of future generations. At the same time, the branches of gynecological diseases are also very large. One of them is called polycystic ovary syndrome. This symptom is a relatively serious disease among many gynecological diseases. So what are the causes and pathologies of this disease? How should we treat it?

PCOS Symptoms

1. Abnormal menstruation. Menstruation is scanty or amenorrhea may occur, and in a few cases, functional uterine bleeding may occur. It often occurs during adolescence and is characterized by irregular menstruation after menarche.

2. Hairy. It is relatively common, with an incidence rate of up to 69%. Due to the increase in androgen levels, the vellus hair on the upper lip, lower jaw, chest, back, middle of the lower abdomen, both sides of the upper thighs and around the anus may become thicker and more numerous, but the degree of hirsutism is not proportional to the androgen level. It may also be accompanied by acne, excessive facial sebum secretion, deep and rough voice, enlarged clitoris, Adam's apple and other signs of masculinization.

3. Infertility. Due to long-term anovulation, patients often suffer from infertility, and sometimes may have occasional ovulation or miscarriage, with an incidence rate of up to 74%.

Causes of Polycystic Ovary Syndrome

Polycystic ovary syndrome is an endocrine disorder with coexistence of reproductive dysfunction and abnormal glucose metabolism. The specific pathogenesis is still unclear. According to long-term clinical statistics, the main causes of polycystic ovary syndrome are as follows:

1) Family genetic factors: Based on the high degree of familial clustering of polycystic ovary syndrome, genetic factors are a major factor in its etiology.

2) Long-term mental stress, drug and disease effects: Mental stress, drugs and certain diseases affect the abnormal regulation function of the hypothalamus-pituitary-ovarian axis, leading to excessive production of androgens by the ovarian stroma and theca cells; high androgens in the ovaries inhibit the maturation of follicles, resulting in a series of symptoms of PCOS such as amenorrhea and hirsutism.

It can be seen that if this disease is not treated in time, it can easily cause various serious diseases such as cervical cancer and uterine cancer. Therefore, if bleeding occurs, and symptoms such as lower abdominal pain, numbness of the limbs, etc. occur, the editor recommends that you go to the hospital for treatment in time, follow the doctor's correct advice, and receive reasonable treatment to prevent the spread and recurrence of the disease.
