However, sometimes there will be an increase in leucorrhea in life. Generally speaking, frequent leucorrhea is not a normal situation. So why does this happen?

Under physiological conditions, it means that the estrogen level in the body gradually increases before menstruation, and the secretion of cervical mucus also gradually increases. The mucus here refers to leucorrhea. After ovulation, estrogen levels decrease and vaginal discharge becomes less and thicker.

Many women will ask when they have abnormal vaginal discharge: What is the reason for excessive vaginal discharge? Under healthy conditions, vaginal discharge will increase with the changes in menstrual period, so there is no need to worry. However, if there are other abnormalities at the same time as excessive vaginal discharge, such as changes in the odor, color, or texture of the vaginal discharge, it may indicate a certain gynecological disease.

Cervical erosion: When many women talk about excessive leucorrhea, the first thing they think of is cervical erosion. In fact, cervical erosion is a manifestation of chronic cervicitis. It is common clinically that cervical erosion causes increased leucorrhea.

Pathogen infection: There are many reasons for pathogen infection, for example, the use of contaminated sanitary products allows pathogens to enter the reproductive tract through the vaginal opening, causing infection and an increase in leucorrhea.

Foreign objects enter the vagina: There are gauze, tampons, menstrual plugs, etc. in the vagina. Some women have contraceptive devices placed in their uterus because it is not suitable for some reason. All of these will stimulate the reproductive organs and increase the amount of leucorrhea.

When suffering from pelvic inflammatory diseases such as endometritis, the amount of leucorrhea will increase, become yellow and watery, and often be accompanied by abdominal pain.

Healthy women generally discharge leucorrhea during the ovulation period. If leucorrhea occurs at other times, it should be considered whether it is an abnormal situation.
