What should I do if my coccyx hurts during confinement?

We know that women face the issue of confinement right after giving birth. As their bodies are relatively weak, they often need to sit for a long time to recuperate. Although it is relatively comfortable, it will cause some disadvantages over a long period of time. The most direct one is that it will compress the coccyx and cause obvious pain. How to solve this problem is a problem that everyone is concerned about. So, what should you do if you have coccyx pain during confinement? Let’s take a closer look below.

To treat postpartum coccyx pain, the cause must be found out. So far, the treatment of coccyx pain is generally divided into two types: conservative treatment and surgical treatment. Conservative treatment of coccyx pain may take several weeks or even several months. If there is no improvement after a long period of conservative treatment and the coccyx joint is obviously unstable or loose, the coccyx can be surgically removed. It will take about four to eight months for the symptoms to improve after the operation. Mothers can use the following four methods to relieve and treat postpartum coccyx pain:

1. When you have coccyx pain, you can apply hot compress to increase local blood circulation and relax local muscles.

2. Lie on your back. When sitting, be careful not to let the painful area come into contact with hard objects. It is best to sit on a soft cushion or rubber ring.

3. Coccyx pain will generally gradually ease 1-2 months after delivery, in order to avoid this phenomenon. If the baby is too heavy (over 4 kg) or the mother has a narrow pelvis, surgical intervention or cesarean section should be performed promptly during delivery.

4. If the postpartum pain does not subside or improve, see a doctor as soon as possible and take necessary treatment.

I think everyone should be clear about what to do if you have coccyx pain during confinement. Many women will experience vertebral pain during confinement. There are many ways to solve this problem. You can refer to these measures, which often have unexpected results. In addition, there are many things you need to pay attention to during the confinement period, otherwise it is easy to suffer lifelong injuries. This is something that must be taken seriously.
