What are the side effects of birth control pills?

"A short separation is better than a new marriage." Couples, boyfriends and girlfriends who haven't seen each other for a while will inevitably be passionate when they meet. Sometimes they don't have time to take some contraceptive measures, but they don't want children. At this time, many women often take visiting contraceptive pills to prevent pregnancy. This contraceptive measure is not a big deal if it is used occasionally, but if it happens too often, it will cause great harm to women's bodies.

(1) Pregnancy-like reactions: A small number of women may experience nausea, vomiting, dizziness, fatigue, and other pregnancy-like reactions after taking the medicine. Most people have mild reactions and do not require special treatment; for a few who have severe reactions, they can be given 10 mg of vitamin B6 or 100 mg of vitamin C, 3 times a day.

(2) Breakthrough bleeding

Vaginal bleeding that occurs during medication is called breakthrough bleeding, which may be due to low estrogen levels or an imbalance in the ratio between estrogen and progesterone, causing partial shedding of the endometrium. At this time, ethinyl estradiol can be used for treatment, taking 0.015 mg every night, 1-2 times a day, for 3 consecutive days. If breakthrough bleeding occurs in the second half of the menstrual cycle, you can take short-acting contraceptive No. 1 or No. 2 orally, once a night, 1-2 tablets each time, for 4-5 consecutive days.

(3) Impact on menstruation

A small number of women may experience prolonged menstrual cycles or amenorrhea after taking contraceptive pills. Those with prolonged menstrual cycles can take 25 mg of megestrol acetate and 0.015 mg of ethinyl estradiol, which have a menstrual induction effect. If amenorrhea occurs after taking the medication, you can take short-acting contraceptive No. 2 orally, 2 tablets each time, twice a day, for 3 consecutive days. Menstruation will come after stopping the medication. Chlorphenamine can also be used for treatment.

(4) Effect on lactation: Taking the medicine may reduce milk secretion in lactating women.

Women cannot always have abortions as this will cause serious harm to their bodies. However, if they always take birth control pills when taking contraceptives, it will also cause harm to their bodies and may seriously affect future pregnancies. Therefore, men and women who want to prevent pregnancy can either wear condoms or place a contraceptive ring in the woman's uterus, which will cause much less harm to women.
