What are the early characteristics of breast hyperplasia?

Many women often experience breast hyperplasia after middle age. This disease is a very common disease. Generally speaking, breast hyperplasia can be divided into benign and malignant. Most people will actively go to the hospital for examination and treatment when they find something wrong with their breasts. However, many people do not know much about the characteristics of breast hyperplasia. So what are the symptoms of breast hyperplasia?

Fibrocystic breast disease is a common breast disease in women. The nomenclature of this disease is very confusing, and it is also known as lobular hyperplasia, mammary dysplasia, fibrocystic disease, etc. It was previously called chronic cystic mastitis, but in fact this disease does not involve any inflammatory changes and is therefore not suitable for use. The characteristic of this disease is the proliferation of breast components, which show abnormalities in structure, quantity and tissue morphology, so it is called cystic hyperplasia or mammary dysplasia.

Breast pain and lumps are the main clinical manifestations of this disease.

(1) Breast pain: It is often characterized by distending pain or stabbing pain, which may affect one or both breasts, with one side being more severe. In severe cases, the breast cannot be touched, and may even affect daily life and work. The pain is mainly in the breast lump, and may also radiate to the armpit, chest, ribs, or shoulders and back of the affected side. Some patients may experience nipple pain or itching. Breast pain often occurs or worsens a few days before menstruation, and is significantly reduced or disappears after menstruation. The pain may also fluctuate with mood changes. This pain related to the menstrual cycle and mood changes is the main feature of the clinical manifestations of fibrocystic fibrosis.

(2) Breast lumps: Breast lumps can occur in one or both breasts, singly or multiplely, and are more common in the upper outer quadrant of the breast, but can also occur in other quadrants. The lumps may be in the form of flakes, nodules, cords, or granules, with flakes being the most common. The boundaries of the lumps are unclear, the texture is medium or slightly hard and tough, the lumps are mobile, and there is no adhesion to the surrounding tissues. They are often tender to touch. The lumps vary in size, ranging from the size of a millet grain to more than 3 to 4 cm. Breast lumps may also change with the menstrual cycle, increasing in size and becoming harder before menstruation and shrinking and softening after menstruation.

(3) Nipple discharge: A small number of patients may experience nipple discharge, which is spontaneous and straw-yellow or brown serous.

(4) Menstrual disorders: Patients with this disease may experience irregular menstruation, scanty or light-colored menstruation, and may be accompanied by dysmenorrhea.

(5) Emotional changes: Patients often feel depressed or irritable, which worsens when they are angry, stressed or tired.

As can be seen from the above, the general symptoms of breast hyperplasia are breast pain, lumps, milk regurgitation during the non-lactation period, and some are accompanied by menstrual disorders, emotional agitation, etc. When these symptoms appear, be sure to go to the hospital for examination in time and let the doctor take reasonable measures to treat the condition based on the condition, and do not delay the condition.
