Recently, a friend went to the hospital for a check-up and found a tumor in her uterus. She was very scared and worried about whether she should have surgery. She didn't know if it would be too late when she found out. In fact, uterine fibroids can be self-checked. In our daily life, there are many phenomena that will highlight whether we have uterine fibroids. Let's discuss what symptoms uterine fibroids may have. Uterine fibroids, also known as uterine leiomyoma, are the most common benign tumors of the female reproductive system. They are formed by the proliferation of smooth muscle tissue and mostly occur between the ages of 35 and 50. According to statistics, about 20% of women over 35 years old develop uterine fibroids, but because most patients have small fibroids and are asymptomatic, the clinically reported fibroid incidence rate is much lower than the actual rate. Most patients have no obvious symptoms and are only occasionally discovered during pelvic examination. If symptoms occur, it is closely related to the location of the fibroids, its growth rate, and whether the fibroids have degenerated. Common symptoms of uterine fibroids (1) Menstrual changes: The most common symptom is shortened menstrual cycle, increased menstrual flow, prolonged menstrual period, irregular vaginal bleeding, etc. (2) Increased leucorrhea: Leucorrhea increases, sometimes with a large amount of purulent and bloody discharge and necrotic tissue discharge with a foul odor. Common symptoms of uterine fibroids 2: abdominal mass (3) Lower abdominal mass: When the fibroid grows to the size of a fist, a hard, uneven mass can be felt above the pubic symphysis. The abdomen is swollen and a mass can be felt in the lower abdomen, accompanied by a feeling of falling. (4) Feeling of pressure: As the fibroids grow, they will compress the bladder, causing urgency and difficulty urinating, and compress the rectum, which may cause constipation. (5) Pain: Large fibroids may compress the nerves and cause lower abdominal pain or back pain. (6) Secondary anemia: Excessive menstrual bleeding caused by uterine fibroids may result. In severe cases, symptoms may include general fatigue, pale complexion, palpitations and shortness of breath, dull complexion, hair loss, decreased immunity, and physical weakness. This is all I have to say about the symptoms of uterine fibroids, which are basically the same as mentioned above. If female friends experience the above symptoms in their daily lives, they should go to the hospital for a detailed examination in time. Do not delay the disease and do not miss the best time to treat uterine fibroids. |
