How much amniotic fluid index should be maintained at 32 weeks of pregnancy to meet the standard

Pregnant mothers all know about amniotic fluid and placenta. The amniotic fluid index during pregnancy is directly related to the health of the baby and the physical condition of the pregnant mother. Therefore, it is very necessary to carefully understand the concepts of amniotic fluid index, amniotic fluid depth, etc. What is the standard for the normal range of amniotic fluid? At the 32nd week of pregnancy, what should be the normal range of the amniotic fluid index of the pregnant mother? I hope the following explanation can help everyone.

No matter which stage of pregnancy, the normal range of amniotic fluid volume is the amniotic fluid index of 8-18 cm and the amniotic fluid depth of 3-8 cm. No matter which value it is, it is normal within this range.

At 32 weeks of pregnancy, the maximum depth of amniotic fluid should be maintained between 40 and 80 mm, and the amniotic fluid index should be no less than 80 mm and no more than 180 mm. However, everyone's physique is different. If the fetus develops normally, is of moderate size, the umbilical cord is not wrapped around the neck, and the fetal position is normal, then even if the amniotic fluid is a little higher or lower, it is actually normal.

Amniotic fluid index: The uterus is divided into four quadrants: upper left, upper right, lower left and lower right. The sum of the maximum vertical depths of the dark areas of amniotic fluid in the four quadrants is AFL. If AFL is greater than 24cm, it is diagnosed as polyhydramnios. If AFL is between 18-24cm, it is suspected polyhydramnios or too much amniotic fluid.

Amniotic fluid depth: B-ultrasound examination indicates the vertical depth of the largest amniotic fluid pool. Less than 2 cm indicates too little amniotic fluid, and greater than 8 cm indicates too much amniotic fluid. It is a medical term and an important indicator for determining the amount of amniotic fluid. If there is too much amniotic fluid, the fetus can grow healthily; if there is too little amniotic fluid, it can cause meconium accumulation during the fetal delivery period, or even premature birth or suffocation. Ultrasound examination shows the vertical depth of the largest amniotic fluid pool. A depth of 3-8cm is considered normal. A value less than 3 cm indicates oligohydramnios, while a value greater than 8 cm indicates polyhydramnios.

Amniotic fluid measurement: Measurement of amniotic fluid volume is an important indicator for assessing whether pregnancy is normal. Currently, most hospitals use ultrasound to understand the amount of amniotic fluid and adopt the "amniotic fluid index method" to determine whether the amount of amniotic fluid is normal. The method is: divide the uterus into four quadrants, measure the maximum depth of the amniotic fluid in each quadrant, and then add up the total. A total value within the range of 8-27 cm is considered normal, a value less than 8 indicates oligohydramnios, and a value greater than 24 indicates polyhydramnios.

Pregnant mothers must keep a good mood, have regular prenatal checkups, develop good eating habits, exercise more, and adjust their work and rest schedules. I believe these methods will help improve the amniotic fluid index during pregnancy. As long as there is no obvious abnormality in fetal development during regular prenatal checkups, it does not matter if the amniotic fluid index is slightly higher or lower. After all, the individual physical constitution of pregnant mothers varies from person to person, so there is no need to worry too much.
