Causes of breast pain in women

Causes of breast pain in women

Nowadays, women are complaining about pain here or there. There are more and more female diseases, and the harm to women's bodies is getting worse and worse. The most common female disease for many women is breasts. Breast swelling and pain are also symptoms of a disease. However, many people often misunderstand such symptoms and don't know what's going on. Some people don't even pay attention to the symptoms of the disease. So what is the reason for the swelling and pain in women's breasts?

1. Breast pain during adolescence: It usually occurs between the ages of 9 and 13. After menarche, the pain will disappear on its own.

2. Premenstrual breast pain: Many women experience breast fullness, hardness, and tenderness before menstruation. In severe cases, the breasts will become swollen and painful with the slightest vibration or collision.

This is caused by increased estrogen levels in the body before menstruation, breast hyperplasia, and edema of breast tissue. The above changes may disappear after menstruation.

3. Breast pain during pregnancy: Some women experience breast pain when they are about 40 days pregnant due to the placenta and villi secreting large amounts of estrogen, progesterone and prolactin, which causes the breasts to enlarge and the pain can last throughout the pregnancy.

4. Postpartum breast pain: Breast fullness, hardness and pain often occur 3 to 7 days after delivery. This is mainly due to breast lymph retention, venous congestion, interstitial edema and obstructed mammary ducts.

5. Breast pain after abortion: This is because the pregnancy is suddenly interrupted, and the hormone level in the body drops suddenly, causing the newly developed breasts to suddenly stop growing, resulting in breast lumps and breast pain.

6. Breast pain after sexual intercourse: This is related to the physiological changes in the breasts during sexual intercourse. People with low libido or disharmonious sex life cannot achieve sexual satisfaction, so breast congestion and swelling are not easy to subside, or they subside incompletely. Continuous congestion will cause breast pain.

Women do not need to worry about this at all, but if the swelling and pain do not ease for a long time, or even become more severe, or if when touching the breast, you find a lump with unevenness, unclear edges, and poor mobility, you should go to the hospital for examination and treatment as soon as possible.

2 Causes

Breast tenderness that occurs too early before menstruation, after menstruation is over or after ovulation, and pain when putting on underwear or touching the breasts are all pathological and can easily lead to gynecological diseases such as infertility and breast tumors. Premenstrual breast pain is an early and important signal of gynecological disease. Strictly speaking, female breasts are part of the reproductive system and are greatly affected by estrogen and progesterone. If the body's endocrine system or ovarian function is disturbed at a certain stage, it will affect the menstrual cycle and breast tissue, thereby causing a series of diseases. The most common and mildest symptom is premenstrual breast swelling. If necessary conditioning or treatment is not given, more discomfort will occur, such as: premenstrual headaches, irritability, insomnia, even premenstrual body pain, mild edema, etc. These symptoms gradually disappear after menstruation and occur repeatedly once a month. Medically, they are called premenstrual tension syndrome. If things go on like this, breast disease will develop, the most common of which is breast hyperplasia. Menstruation may also be disrupted, resulting in menstrual disorders or amenorrhea, which will lead to infertility.

Causes of postpartum breast pain

Postpartum breast tenderness is generally caused by mastitis, which usually occurs about 7 days after delivery. The mother may experience chills, fever, swelling and pain in the affected breast. The infection focus is often limited to a quadrant of one breast, where the local skin is red, there is an obvious lump, it is hard and tender, and is often accompanied by enlarged and tender axillary lymph nodes on the same side.

Causes of breast pain after abortion

After an artificial abortion, some patients complain of breast pain and can feel a breast lump. If the symptoms appear a long time after the abortion, people tend to forget or ignore that the symptoms are related to the abortion. Artificial abortion is different from natural childbirth. The latter is a natural process of maturity, while artificial abortion is an extraordinary state caused by human interference. Generally, the breasts begin to swell, become fuller, and enlarge, and the mammary glands gradually develop 4 weeks after menopause. When pregnancy is suddenly interrupted and hormone levels drop sharply, the newly developed mammary glands will suddenly stop growing, the cells will become smaller, and the alveoli will disappear. This aggregation and recovery is often incomplete and uneven, just like newborn leaves are not easy to wither and fall off, thus causing breast lumps and breast pain. It is reported that the incidence of breast hyperplasia also rises sharply with the number of induced abortions. According to foreign reports, the more abortions you have, the greater your risk of breast cancer. Many data have confirmed that the impact of abortion on breasts is not only painful, but can also be long-lasting and potentially harmful. Therefore, abortions should be avoided as little as possible or avoided, and contraception should be effectively implemented.

If you find that your breasts are swollen and painful, it is most important to pay attention to the disease in time. Breast pain may also be caused by various breast diseases. Therefore, it is necessary to go to the hospital for a chest CT scan in time. Only in this way can you know what disease you have, and then use effective methods to treat it symptomatically. You can do appropriate massage when your breasts are painful.
