What is a hydrosalpingostomy?

Hydrosalpinx is caused by inflammation of the fallopian tube due to infection by pathogens. Bacterial infection can cause hydrosalpinx. Hydrosalpinx is very harmful and may affect women's fertility, so it needs to be treated promptly. So, what is a hydrosalpingostomy? If you want to know the answer, please read the following carefully!

Salpingostomy is suitable for patients with obstruction of the fimbria of the fallopian tube (also known as hydrosalpinx). A "cross" or "M" shaped incision is made at the thinnest part of the enlarged part of the atretic end of the fimbria of the fallopian tube using a fiber-thin electric knife or a microscopic scalpel. Then a No. 6 flat-head needle or a thin silicone tube is inserted from the incision, and normal saline is slowly injected. Further examination is performed to confirm the patency of the entire fallopian tube. The injection method is the same as that of tubal anastomosis. The incised mucosal flap is everted, and the everted fimbria is made into a "petal shape" with 7-0 nylon thread. Due to the large lumen of the tube, it is generally not necessary to retain a stent, and early fluid perfusion is recommended after the operation. For those with severe adhesions, the use of a stent can prevent the formation of new adhesions.

When angiography confirms that the fallopian tube obstruction occurs at the fimbria and the end of the expanded part, the closed part can be cut off and a stoma can be created to replace the original closed fimbria. Because the created stoma loses the ability of the fimbria to capture eggs, and the affected fallopian tube is often accompanied by inflammation, further treatment after surgery, such as timely fallopian tube ventilation or uterine fallopian tube fluid therapy, is very important. Stoma is a type of infertility surgery with a relatively high success rate.

After reading the above, I believe you already know what hydrosalpingostomy is! Hydrosalpingostomy can effectively change the problem of hydrosalpinges. In normal times, it is still necessary to prevent the occurrence of hydrosalpinx, pay attention to genital hygiene, and try not to have artificial abortion. This will greatly increase the risk of women suffering from hydrosalpinx, so you still need to pay more attention.
