What to do if your skin is dry during early pregnancy

The skin of pregnant mothers often becomes worse, and acne and spots are common phenomena. You should also pay attention to taking care of your skin during pregnancy. During this period, we need more care and healthier methods. Some mothers' skin becomes very dry during pregnancy, especially in winter, which makes expectant mothers very distressed. So why is it? And how should we deal with it?

Why is your skin prone to dryness during pregnancy?

1. As estrogen levels in the body decrease, sebum secretion decreases and the skin's ability to retain moisture decreases.

2. Changes in the external climate will cause abnormal secretion of sebaceous glands and sweat glands, making the skin surface rougher and the resistance weakened.

3. Lack of sleep, fatigue, excessive weight loss and picky eating can cause considerable harm to the body and worsen blood circulation. When health is out of balance, skin loses its vitality.

4. Pregnant women who take baths with overheated water or use irritating soaps or detergents can also suffer from dry skin. However, these are short-term phenomena and can be improved immediately.

How to improve dry skin

1. Pregnant women with dry skin should not wash their faces frequently, because the natural oils on the skin can be easily washed away. It is best to use baby soap or glycerin soap to wash your face instead.

2. Use skin care products that can add moisture to the skin, apply to dry areas and massage gently.

3. Do not soak for too long when bathing, otherwise it will easily cause skin dehydration. You can add some bath oil to the water and use ordinary soap as little as possible.

4. Pay attention to the nutritional balance of diet and increase the intake of minerals such as magnesium and calcium, such as meat, fish and eggs.

5. Eat more carrots. Carrots are rich in beta-carotene, which can make skin soft, shiny and elastic.

These methods are relatively healthy and will not endanger the health of the child. Of course, expectant mothers are most worried about the health of their children. In addition to the above, mothers should also increase their sleep. The editor recommends placing a humidifier at home to make the air more moist, change the living environment, and prevent themselves from being dry.
