How are female uterine fibroids caused?

Uterine fibroids are a gynecological disease with a very high incidence rate among women. They can seriously threaten women's physical health and also cause many women with this disease to have certain psychological pressure. However, uterine fibroids must be treated in time, otherwise it may cause women to become infertile or have stomach pains. Uterine fibroids are also particularly prone to cause lesions. So if we want to better prevent and treat this disease, we must understand its causes. Let's take a look at how uterine fibroids are caused in women.

How are female uterine fibroids caused?

1. General factors:

1. Age: Uterine fibroids mostly occur in women of childbearing age, more common in women aged 30-50. It is rare for adolescent women to have uterine fibroids. Uterine fibroids atrophy or disappear after menopause.

2. Obesity: Obesity can cause metabolic disorders, leading to lack of cyclical regulation of progesterone, causing abnormal menstrual cycles, affecting ovulation, and increasing the risk of uterine fibroids.

3. History of pregnancy and miscarriage: Women with no history of pregnancy and childbirth are more likely to develop uterine fibroids than women with a history of pregnancy and childbirth, and the age of onset is earlier, mainly because menstruation can increase the amount of progesterone in women's bodies.

4. Smoking and drinking: Smoking and drinking can easily induce uterine fibroids. Studies have shown that women who smoke a pack of cigarettes a day are six times more likely to develop uterine fibroids than non-smoking women.

2. Hormone levels:

1. Low estrogen: Biochemical tests have confirmed that the conversion of estradiol to estrone in fibroids is significantly lower than that in normal muscle tissue, and the concentration of estrogen receptors in fibroids is significantly higher than that in surrounding muscle tissue. Therefore, it is believed that the high sensitivity of local fibroid tissue to estrogen is one of the important factors in the occurrence of fibroids.

2. Low progesterone. Progesterone can promote mitosis of fibroids and stimulate their growth. If a woman has low levels of progesterone in her body, it is easy to induce uterine fibroids.

3. Genetic factors:

Cytogenetics show that 25%-50% of uterine fibroids have cytogenetic abnormalities, such as chromosome segment position exchange, chromosome long arm rearrangement or partial deletion, etc. Uterine fibroids are formed by the proliferation of monoclonal smooth muscle cells, while multiple uterine fibroids are formed by different clones of cells.

The above is an introduction to how uterine fibroids are caused in women. After understanding it, we know that uterine fibroids are generally caused by changes in hormones in the body. Therefore, female friends must pay special attention to ensure adequate sleep every day in their daily lives, and must ensure good personal physiological hygiene, especially during menstruation, try not to always eat raw, cold and irritating foods.
