What foods can’t you eat when you have an IUD?

At present, IUD insertion is a relatively common contraceptive method. Due to various reasons, most women choose to use IUD insertion for contraception. Many women will experience some physical discomfort after the insertion. In fact, women should pay attention when having IUD insertion and try to have a lighter diet. Below, the editor will introduce some main precautions for women after sex.

IUD is a commonly used long-term contraceptive measure, and a ring can be placed in the body for more than ten years. It achieves the purpose of contraception through mechanical stimulation and interference of chemical substances. It does not inhibit ovulation, does not affect the endocrine system, and avoids the adverse reactions of general drug contraception. However, there are still side effects of having an IUD, so you should pay attention to your health care.

Post-implantation care methods:

1. The amount of menstrual blood increases after the placement of the ring. If the bleeding is too much, you should take hemostatic drugs and be alert to the occurrence of anemia.

2. You should rest for 2 days after the IUD is placed and avoid heavy physical labor within a week. Proper bed rest can reduce pelvic pressure and congestion, making the uncomfortable symptoms disappear as soon as possible.

3. If amenorrhea or other signs of pregnancy occur during IUD placement, you should be alert to the possibility of pregnancy with the IUD. Although the copper IUD is highly effective in preventing pregnancy, no method is 100% effective.

4. Avoid sexual intercourse and bathing for 2 weeks after the IUD is inserted.

5. Go for a check-up within 3 months after the IUD is inserted, and then have a check-up once a year thereafter. It can detect problems that the patient cannot find in time, and can also detect and treat asymptomatic reproductive tract infections, eliminating the disease in its infancy.

6. Be alert to the possibility of the ring falling off within 3 months after insertion, especially during menstruation and bowel movements. Choosing the right contraceptive ring can reduce foreign body reactions.

Generally, when having an IUD inserted, try to eat a lighter diet and avoid eating overly irritating foods or raw, cold, or spicy foods to avoid varying degrees of infection due to food irritation, which could have adverse effects on women's health. If you find yourself feeling unwell, you should go to the hospital for examination in time.
