What are the signs of pregnancy?

For pregnant women, the most exciting moment is childbirth, so what are the signs before delivery? When the due date is approaching, pregnant women are very nervous. They don’t know when the birth will come, and they are also worried that they are not fully prepared. In fact, as long as you can understand the various signs before delivery, you can observe your own abnormal phenomena.

1. Vaginal secretions increase. In order to prepare for delivery, the cervix will become soft and loose, so the secretions increase. These secretions are transparent or white and sticky.

2. The symptoms of upper abdominal oppression are alleviated. Symptoms such as bloating, acid reflux, heartburn, and loss of appetite in pregnant women are significantly alleviated or disappear. The shortness of breath is improved and the upper abdomen feels relaxed. This is because the fetal head enters the pelvis and the fetus descends into the pelvis, relieving the pressure on the upper abdomen. 3. There is a feeling of heaviness in the kidneys. Due to the innervation of the nerves in the uterus, there is a vague feeling of heaviness in the kidney area (slightly above the lower back). 4. Frequent urination. Due to the pressure from the descending fetal head, the bladder can store less urine. You feel the urge to urinate and need to go to the toilet after urinating a little. This is not a urinary system disease but a sign of approaching delivery.

5. Low back pain, swelling and cramps in the thigh roots, pain in the toes, and difficulty walking. These are symptoms caused by the descending fetal head compressing the nerves in the pelvis.

6. Rupture of membranes. Most mothers’ membranes rupture after labor, and only a few mothers’ membranes rupture before labor, which is called “premature rupture of membranes”. Some pregnant women will go into labor soon after their water breaks, while others will have to wait for some time.

7. Bloody vaginal discharge, commonly known as "red show", is a relatively reliable sign that labor is about to begin. This is caused by the separation of the fetal membrane near the internal cervical opening from the uterine wall, resulting in the rupture of the capillaries and the discharge of a small amount of blood through the vagina. Red show often occurs 24 to 48 hours before labor begins. You should go to the hospital immediately to wait for delivery.

8. Regular uterine contractions. Different from irregular uterine contractions, mothers will experience regular uterine contractions before giving birth, occurring every 10 to 15 minutes and lasting for dozens of seconds each time. Even if they rest in bed, the contractions will not disappear. Moreover, the intervals between contractions gradually shorten and the duration gradually lengthens. The intensity of the contractions also increases. At this time, women should go to the hospital immediately to wait for delivery.

Regarding the signs of birth, I hope the above introduction can be helpful to pregnant friends. After ten months of pregnancy and a day of delivery, after understanding the signs of birth clearly, you can judge whether the time of delivery has come based on these phenomena, and you should rush to the hospital as soon as possible to consult a doctor and be prepared.
