What should I do if I have ulcers in my vagina?

Gynecological diseases always make many women suffer, especially when ulcers appear in the vagina. Not only is the pain unbearable, but it is also accompanied by fever. Of course, when this happens, they will lose any interest in sexual life. Over time, it will also affect the relationship between the couple. So what is the matter with ulcers in the vagina? Let me introduce it to you below!

Vaginal ulcer is an acute skin disease occurring in the female vagina, characterized by one or more ulcers, accompanied by fever and pain. Ulcers can exist alone, or several ulcers can merge into one larger ulcer. Vaginal ulcers are common in middle-aged and young women. Vulvar inflammation is a common cause of vaginal ulcers, such as nonspecific vulvitis, herpes simplex virus infection, Behcet's disease, vulvar tuberculosis, syphilis, and lymphogranuloma venereum. In addition, about 1/3 of vulvar cancers present as ulcers in the early stages.

Symptoms of vaginal ulcers: Behcet's disease. Acute vaginal ulcers are common in Behcet's disease. In the past, acute ulcers were believed to be benign ulcers caused by non-contact infection of large rods. It is now generally believed that acute vulvar ulcers are a development stage of Behcet's disease, which may occur simultaneously or successively with eye and oral lesions. Ulcers can occur widely in various parts of the vulva, but are most common on the inner and outer sides of the labia minora and the vestibule of the vagina. They have an acute onset and often recur.

Because the cause of the disease is not yet clear, the treatment is mainly symptomatic. Keep the vulva clean, dry and reduce friction. Use 1:5000 potassium permanganate solution for sitz bath, and apply antibiotic ointment topically for ulcers caused by nonspecific vulvitis. Other ulcers should be treated according to different causes. For patients with Behcet's disease, attention should be paid to improving the general condition. For those with severe symptoms, corticosteroids can be given in the acute phase to relieve symptoms, and compound neomycin ointment, 1%-2% silver nitrate ointment or Bingpengsan can be applied topically.

After reading my introduction, I believe you have a certain understanding of this disease. If you unfortunately encounter this situation, don’t keep it to yourself. You should go to the hospital for examination in time and take some measures for treatment. During the period of no cure, it is best not to have sexual life to avoid aggravating the condition.
