What to do about breast lumps?

The condition of breast lumps is actually what we commonly call lumps. You can feel the lumps in the breast with your hands. What to do if pregnant women have breast lumps

Breast swelling, soreness, and lumps during pregnancy are normal pregnancy reactions and should not be considered breast diseases. It is recommended to apply a hot towel and gently massage every day. If the symptoms do not improve after a period of time, go to the hospital for examination in time.

You must not be too casual when cleaning your breasts. If you want to give your breasts the best care, you must be careful when cleaning your breasts. Do not use lotions that are too irritating. It is best to use warm water to clean them.

How to clean your breasts during pregnancy

Pregnant women should pay attention to breast cleanliness during pregnancy. Cleaning the breasts can not only keep the milk ducts unobstructed, but also help increase the toughness of the nipples and reduce the occurrence of complications such as nipple fissures during lactation.

Some pregnant mothers will begin to secrete colostrum in their breasts in the second trimester of pregnancy, and may even find a little white, transparent, watery substance on their nipples. However, there is no need for breast pads at this time, because the hormones in the body will be balanced and regulated, and when the baby has not yet been born, the secretion of milk will not be too much. In addition to colostrum, many pregnant mothers will have small, white, protruding sebaceous glands on their areola, called "Montgomery" glands, which also secrete sebum. The secretion of sebum is to moisturize the nipples and increase protection for the nipples for future breastfeeding. At the same time, it emits a special smell so that the baby born in the future can find the mother through the smell and trigger a breast-seeking reflex. If you find the above secretions, just wipe them off gently with clean water. There is no need to use soap. Don't wash them too clean, so as not to make the nipples too dry and vulnerable to damage.

During the colostrum appearance stage, colostrum tends to form scabs on the nipples, which should be softened with ointment first and then removed with warm water. If you use soap or alcohol to clean your nipples before giving birth, the oil secreted by the sebaceous glands around the nipples that protect the skin will be removed, and the nipples will become too dry and easily cracked and damaged. Therefore, pregnant women who plan to breastfeed are not recommended to use soap and alcohol to clean their breasts.
