Treatment of first-degree uterine prolapse

Treatment of first-degree uterine prolapse

Patients who have experienced uterine prolapse must know that first-degree uterine prolapse is relatively mild and easier to treat. However, when first-degree uterine prolapse develops into second-degree or even third-degree uterine prolapse, it is more difficult to cure. Especially when it develops to third-degree, it can basically only be treated with surgery. Therefore, treatment must be started as early as possible. I hope everyone can understand it through the editor’s introduction.

1. What is uterine prolapse

When the uterus descends along the vagina from its normal position, the external cervical opening reaches below the level of the ischial spine, or even the entire uterus protrudes out of the vaginal opening, it is called uterine prolapse. Uterine prolapse is often accompanied by bulging of the anterior and posterior walls of the vagina. The main reasons are damage to the cervix, cardinal cervical ligament and uterosacral ligament caused by delivery and failure of supporting tissues to return to normal after delivery. In addition, most women in the postpartum period like to lie on their backs and are prone to chronic urinary retention. The uterus is prone to become posterior, with the axis of the uterus in the same direction as the axis of the vagina. When the abdominal pressure increases, the uterus will descend along the direction of the vagina and prolapse will occur. Postpartum squatting (such as washing diapers, washing vegetables, etc.) can increase abdominal pressure and cause uterine prolapse. Uterine prolapse in nulliparous women is caused by poor development of the supporting tissues of the reproductive organs.

2. Causes of uterine prolapse

Birth Injury

It is the anatomical basis for uterine prolapse. The main reasons are damage to the cervix, the main cervical ligament and the uterosacral ligament caused by childbirth, and the failure of supporting tissues to return to normal after delivery. In addition, most mothers in the puerperium like to lie on their backs and are prone to chronic urinary retention. The uterus is prone to become posterior, and the axis of the uterus is in the same direction as the axis of the vagina. When the abdominal pressure increases, the uterus descends along the direction of the vagina and prolapses. The habit of squatting after delivery (such as washing diapers, washing vegetables, etc.) can increase abdominal pressure and cause uterine prolapse.

Increased intra-abdominal pressure

In addition to the above causes, long-term chronic cough, constipation, ascites or huge tumors in the pelvic and abdominal cavity may also cause it. Constipation is a common complex symptom in clinical practice, rather than a disease. It mainly refers to reduced frequency of bowel movements, reduced stool volume, dry stool, and difficulty in defecation. The presence of constipation must be determined based on the characteristics of the stool, the individual's usual bowel habits, and whether or not there is difficulty with defecation. If it lasts for more than 6 months, it is considered chronic constipation.

Hypoplasia of reproductive organ support tissues

Uterine prolapse in nulliparous women is caused by poor development of the supporting tissues of the reproductive organs.

3. How to treat primary uterine prolapse

First-degree uterine prolapse does not require treatment. You can recover by taking rest. Pay attention to bed rest. When sleeping, it is advisable to raise the hips or feet by two bricks. Do not get out of bed too early after delivery, especially do not participate in heavy physical labor too early. Avoid standing or squatting for a long time, holding your breath and other actions that increase abdominal pressure. Keep urination and defecation unobstructed. Treat chronic tracheitis, diarrhea and other diseases that increase abdominal pressure in time. The breastfeeding period should not exceed two years to prevent the uterus and its supporting tissue from atrophy. Do appropriate physical exercise to improve physical fitness and increase nutrition. Eat more foods that have the effect of replenishing qi and kidney, such as chicken, yam, lentils, lotus seeds, Euryale ferox, loach, mussels, leeks, jujubes, etc., and be moderate in sexual intercourse.

Uterine prolapse basically does not require treatment or medication. You just need to pay attention to it, do more anal exercises, and strengthen your physical exercise, and the situation will gradually improve. In addition, female friends who have this problem can also choose yoga to slowly improve their uterine prolapse problem, and the effect is also quite obvious.
