How to diagnose uterine prolapse?

Uterine prolapse is a very common uterine disease. There are many reasons for uterine prolapse. So let us take a look at what factors cause uterine prolapse? The diagnosis of uterine prolapse is relatively easy. We can usually confirm it through visual examination, or do a vaginal B-ultrasound. The treatment for uterine prolapse is generally the use of a pessary. How should uterine prolapse be diagnosed?

Uterine prolapse refers to the uterus descending along the vagina from its normal position, with the cervix descending below the level of the ischial spines, and even protruding out of the external opening of the vagina. In traditional Chinese medicine, this is called "yin prolapse" or "yin displacement", and is commonly known as "hanging eggplant".

This disease is more common in working women. Before liberation, the working people suffered from various oppression and exploitation, their lives were not guaranteed, and they used the old method of delivery. When the pelvic floor support tissue was damaged, it was not repaired. After delivery, they were forced to work too early due to life pressures. In addition, they gave birth too many and too frequently, so the whole body and pelvic floor tissues could not recover. Therefore, the incidence of this disease is very high. After liberation, the implementation of new methods of delivery, family planning, and leave systems during pregnancy and after childbirth have continuously improved the health level of women, so the incidence of this disease has dropped significantly. The main cause of this disease is that women are usually weak and have weak pelvic floor muscles. Under certain inducements, the position of the uterus can be lowered. The causes include: too many births, difficult labor, improper delivery, prolonged labor, excessive force, failure to suture soft tissues such as the vagina or perineum after lacerations during delivery, physical labor too early after delivery or standing or squatting for too long; severe coughing, asthma, diarrhea, constipation and other factors that increase fatal abdominal pressure during the postpartum period are all conditions that induce uterine prolapse.

The main symptoms of this disease are: a swelling protruding from the vagina, which can be retracted into the vagina in the early stage but is more difficult in the later stage, a heavy lower abdomen, back pain, difficulty urinating, constipation, excessive and yellow leucorrhea, heavy menstrual flow, and the period may be advanced.

How to treat uterine prolapse?

Uterine prolapse is still a common disease in rural areas, causing a lot of pain to patients and should be treated actively.

For the treatment of uterine prolapse, or when drug treatment is ineffective, surgical treatment should be performed. Surgical treatment is divided into three categories: for young people who want to have children, surgery to preserve the uterus can be chosen; for older women who do not need to have children, hysterectomy can be chosen; for the elderly and frail, vaginal septum formation can be used.

The uterus begins to descend along the vagina from its normal position, and the external opening of the cervix reaches below the level of the ischial spine. The entire uterus may even protrude out of the vagina. The situation outside the vaginal opening is called uterine prolapse. It can be divided into 3 levels according to the severity of dehydration. The cause must be identified and treated symptomatically.
