Chest pain in pregnant women - reflux esophagitis

Pregnant women usually need to pay attention to their physical health. Many times, if they do not pay attention to their body, it may affect the baby in their belly. Pregnant women must maintain a good sleeping posture and pay attention to their diet. Many pregnant women feel that chest pain is a major symptom of reflux esophagitis. We must pay attention to it. Let's learn about it together.

Sleeping on the left side during pregnancy makes scientific sense and is very good for the fetus. I have been keeping this position now, and sometimes I feel the same as you, haha, but this is all normal. When you feel uncomfortable, you can change to lying on the right side for a while. When you are older, don't sleep on your back anymore, as this will make the fetus prone to hypoxia. It is recommended that you increase exercise during the day and maintain a good physical condition, and these minor problems will be alleviated.

Reflux esophagitis is caused by the reflux of gastric contents into the esophagus, commonly known as "heartburn". Under normal circumstances, gastric acid only exists in the stomach. When it refluxes into the esophagus, it burns or irritates the esophagus and produces a "heartburn feeling." It often occurs after a meal and is caused by a weakening of the esophageal sphincter or higher pressure in the stomach than in the esophagus. Long-term and repeated irritation of the gastric contents to the esophageal mucosa, especially the mucosa of the lower esophageal arm, causes inflammation. This disease often coexists with chronic gastritis, peptic ulcer or hiatal hernia, but it can also exist alone. Depending on the symptoms, they belong to the diseases and syndromes of "acid swallowing", "acid vomiting", "choking", and "chest pain" in traditional Chinese medicine.

1. Avoid drinking and smoking: Tobacco contains nicotine, which can reduce the pressure of the lower esophageal sphincter, relax it and aggravate reflux. The main component of alcohol is ethanol, which can not only stimulate gastric acid secretion, but also relax the lower esophageal sphincter, which is one of the causes of gastroesophageal reflux. 2. Pay attention to eating small meals frequently and eating a low-fat diet to reduce the frequency of reflux symptoms after eating. On the contrary, a high-fat diet can promote the release of cholecystokinin from the small intestinal mucosa, which can easily lead to reflux of gastrointestinal contents. 3. Do not eat too much for dinner and avoid lying down immediately after a meal. 4. Obese people should lose weight. Because excessive obesity increases abdominal pressure, which can promote gastric reflux, especially in the supine position, it is more serious. Therefore, people should actively lose weight to improve reflux symptoms. 5. Keep a good mood and increase appropriate physical exercise. 6. When going to bed, the head of the bed should be raised 10 cm to 15 cm, which is an effective way to reduce nocturnal reflux. 7. Try to minimize activities that increase intra-abdominal pressure, such as excessive bending over, wearing tight clothes, and tightening the belt. 8. Medication should be taken under the guidance of a doctor to avoid side effects caused by taking medication indiscriminately. [
